The Genion slowed as the power plant went up like a fireworks factory that had a lit cigarette but flicked through the window. Fear welled in his chest, amplified by the deafening cacophany and the all too fresh memories of fanged horrors in never ending waves mowing. But he could not stop. He had to close that gap! "Selene, you alright?" James' voice shook, unnerved with fear and worry.

The dust lingered in the air, the moon's gravity keeping a lazy grip on the particles. It would be some time before that cleared... it would be a double edged sword for everyone. The Geminia seemed to already be taking advantage of the cloud, vanishing momentarily. The Genion slowed it's advance until... There!

The Geminia lingered over the Arbiter for a brief moment before coming crashing down with... Holy hells! The Genion kicked off again, barreling to intercept the Geminia with a tackle, emerald energy crackling around the blue mech's fists.

Whatever Charles had been anticipating, a colossal detonation to his rear was not it. His view snapped around, drawn by the brilliant initial impact as the energy storage ruptured - before the signal was summarily obscured by interference from the massive power surge. His field of view darted back and forth across what little the man could still see, searching for any sign of the Geminia. Surely Gerart was too prideful to simply blast the Diam Sir from a distance, not to mention that he had had ample opportunity to do so by now. Debris pinged from his machine as he waited with bated breath.

The Arbiter was proven satisfyingly - and luckily, for his survival - correct, though Enfield's emergence from the cloud of dust and detrius gave him scant moments to react. The Diam's halberd whipped horizontally above the machine's head, still grasped in both hands; arcs of violet energy flew from the haft as the Geminia's blades struck home against it. The frame groaned around Charles, but both it and the weapon seemed to survive the impact without permanent damage. For now.

A blur in his peripheral caught Charles' vision even as he contemplated his counterattack. The Genion, it seemed, was coming in for the assist at close range. And that meant that for the moment all he needed to do was keep Gerart occupied. He intentionally eased back on his resistance to the Geminia's attack, allowing the Sir to buckle ever so slightly at shoulder and knee - and hopefully deceiving Enfield into believing he had a clear upper hand in their struggle.

Only static greeted James as he called out for the Queen, tremulously. One could only hope that it was on account of the interference Enfield had scattered about the battlefield, but... the condition of the facility being what it was, it was impossible to tell. Perhaps that had been Enfield's goal all along - to silence her as well?

The Geminia collided with the Diam Sir - yet the immense weight of the DEC-infused Knight-Machine was more than sufficient to hold against the mauve menace, despite the crushing force with which it had impacted. It was the late Sir Exeter himself who held a lifelong, steadfast belief in such machines, explaining: "A knight of Luna needs only his skills, fine armor, and a peerless sword. Technology is no substitute for what truly separates us from the Terrans - our pride.", and one could almost have imagined his spirit giving an approving nod as Charles bravely stood his ground against Enfield's psychic colossus.

"You're becoming more comfortable with that unit. Good."

Enfield's voice crackled over the connection between the two, momentarily - yet, it didn't seem directed at the Arbiter. Rather, he seemed to be addressing the rapidly approaching form of the Genion, further in his rear view mirror, as it were, than it appeared.

"Even so..."

Likely to Charles' shock, Enfield barely pressed his attack at all - the Geminia's feet gently touched the surface of the moon, kicking up a small trail of dust - and its entire right side lit up, wing binders flaring with neon-green energy, as the Sphere of the Quarreling Twins threw its weight behind its Reactor, answering their demands for more of its might. There was a final screech of plasma against metal as the twin laser blades tore free of the Sacred Halberd, the Geminia rocketing away on a tower of flame.

"You should know better-"

The machine practically spun as its wing binders whipped it out and around, covering an incredible distance in milliseconds. The sheer size of the Geminia was part of its terrible fury, as was its reach, which was now on full display. As James approached the smoke, as far as he could see, the titan merely vanished into the dust - only to emerge a moment later to his immediate left, twin blades glowing like luminous fangs.

"THAN TO RUSH IN!"

-With a roar, the Geminia ripped both the laser blades across the Genion's path, tearing into its chest, and its face - counting on James being unable to halt his forward momentum before the weapons found their mark.

"Like you care." James' voice mingled with the static, cold and distorted. He remained emotionally distant, not responding to the baiting. This tactic would not work well, he could already see that with Enfield's response. He knew, the jig was up before the Geminia bounded away, back into the dust cloud. So long as that cloud was up, Enfield was dangerous. But then again, so was he. The Drones began their circle back to the battle field, using the dust as a cover to hide.

The Genion did not slow it's charge. Enfield would have counted on him attempting to bring the Genion out of her forward momentum. Time to disappoint him. "Why do you want her destroyed? Why did-" His voice cut off as the Genion's sensors cried the warning. The Genion threw itself forward with the lightest touch of the controls, some flicker of a thought filed itself away in the back of James' mind. The blue mech landed on the pale lunar surface on the back of her right shoulder, her head tucked down and tilted to left. The impact absorbed into the shoulder plate and field, momentum carrying her forward and under the blades, rolling across her back and bringing her full circle.

The Genion came out of her roll onto her feet, the forward momentum still enough to allow her to pirouette around to face the Geminia, her right hand and foot forward, left foot back, left arm tucked in at her side, a combative stance, ready to strike. Yet she did not charge forward or lash out. Instead, The Nitro Pikes fired once more, accompanied by a pass of the drones fire before they disappeared back into the cloud cover.

Charles' jaw clenched as the two machines clashed, as though the act of physical exertion on his part could influence the outcome of the struggle. It appeared for a moment that Enfield may have taken the bait - but when their crossed weapons finally separated with a deafening scream of anguished metal, the colossus instead spun and roared away. The Diam Sir stumbled forward somewhat, overbalanced as the great force bearing down against it was suddenly removed, and the Arbiter was left to utter his resultant curse in momentary solitude.

The man triggered his comms, abruptly going against his own decision only moments ago to cut the line to the opponent. "You know you cannot stand against the both of us, Gerart." The Sir itself lifted from the lunar soil on bright flame, throwing up a plume of charred dust as it accelerated in pursuit of the far quicker Geminia to the best of its ability. "Cease this foolishness!"

The dustcloud roiled in the wake of the larger machine's passage, blinding Charles to what lay ahead - but also concealing his actions from Enfield, though the man may understandably expect him to pursue. The Sir nonetheless barreled headlong into the cloud, lowering its right shoulder like a linebacker and leading the charge with a battering ram of heavy DEC-infused plate. He simply followed the same line the enemy had taken as it was impossible to tell if the Geminia had altered course on its way to meet the Genion.

Oddly, being forced to blindly rely on the unit's superior armor to ward off any unseen counterattacks was more reassuring than unsettling.

The Genion ducked under Enfield's whirling blades, tumbling across the Lunar surface, kicking up white dust as it did. As it scrambled to its feet, the Nitro Pikes flared-

And James vision would have been filled, proximity alarms blaring as the Geminia erupted towards him out of the dust, bringing its armored right knee up in a blisteringly-quick strike aimed to smash into his exposed chest, as the electromagnetic rods and remote blasts alike pinged harmlessly off the colossus' D-Fault barrier - something James would be all too familiar with, his questions being overridden as Enfield roared:

"FOCUS!"

Were the knee strike to connect, the machine's closed left fist would have swept down in a deadly straight punch, blurring down with Sphere-augmented speed, aimed to strike squarely into the Genion's left shoulder, and delivered with enough force to send James sprawling. The younger sibling thus dispatched, Enfield craned the unit's neck back to look in the direction of the charging Diam Sir, energy particles already crackling to life in its right palm.

"You always had more bark than bite, Charles." Spat the Knight of Knights in response to the Arbiter's demands, his demeanor quickly become more and more unstable by the moment, though the immediate reason for this seemed... unclear.

"I can do this ALL DAY!"

The right palm was thrust in the Diam Sir's direction, light gleaming at the center of the palm emitter - and flared. This time, the blast was wide, and shallow, the lightwave particles scattering in a cone-like shape that scorched the Lunar dunes - Not enough to destroy the armor of the Diam Sir, but enough to harm, and possibly slow it.

James did not even have time to swear by the time the Genion faced the Geminia. The alarms blared just in time to let him brace for the impact. The knee struck the D-Fault barrier, followed closely by the deadly punch. The blow sent the smaller mech to the ground with the force.

Yeah. Sure. That would totaly help! James glared at the monitor, fighting down a growl that bubbled up in his throat. He could focus all day and still not hit or dodge this speedy bastard! Thank the goddess for the Arbiter, he provided a good distraction. He used that distraction to get the Genion to her feet and into the dust cloud.

The bits joined him in the dust cloud. The Genion quickly disassembled them and remounted the Punishers and the Halberd sections. The Punishers would be useless against the D-Fault, he was fairly certain the halberd would be as well. Losing those weapons would limit his versitility. If they could overwhelm the D-Fault though... They would be useful again, but he would have to be very close.

With the drones disassembled and stored, he turned his attention back to the fray, biding his time to get the jump on Enfield.

Bursting at speed from the blinding dust, Charles was immediately greeted by the sight of the Geminia delivering a brutal combination attack to its sister unit. To intervene was impossible; he could only hope that the Genion was robust enough to weather the blows. To lose a unique machine was one thing, but to lose a pilot was quite another. He knew little of James beyond the young man's existence, but (perhaps ironically) the Arbiter had never been much predisposed toward considering station a measure of one's worth.

This time, he was prepared - or so he thought - for Gerart's blast. The Diam Sir rolled along the axis of its charge, splitting and curving away from its current trajectory in an attempt to change course without shedding too much forward velocity. Unfortunately for Charles, he had predicted based on the same sort of attack that had come before, and Enfield had seen fit to serve up something a little different instead. His machine shook violently as the literal wall of lightwave energy washed over it; the proud shine of its armor dulled in an instant as the surface layers were scoured away. It was akin to diving headlong into a tremendous sandstorm, one which possessed the power to strip even a mobile weapon to the hypothetical bone. It bit deep into the unit's upper surfaces, greatly reducing the protection the armor would offer, but the damage was not yet fatal.

"To think that I respected you." Terse words, delivered neutrally. Charles pinned the throttle, still intent on arrowing in on the Geminia even after the severe rattling it had just given him. "I suppose we all make mistakes." The unit's halberd flipped up, bladed tip extended forward in a simple attempt to spear the larger machine through the midsection.

The Grand Arbiter either had a deathwish...or a plan.

"Respect? You think I want your RESPECT?"

Charles, unwittingly, had managed to distract Enfield from delivering a killing blow to the Genion, his words causing the Geminia to whip around angrily. Avoiding the charging Diam Sir would have required only a moment - but instead, the unit stood its ground, Enfield bellowing back at the Arbiter:

"How does it taste, Charles? When you lick the hand of your masters?"

The two machines collided - and the Geminia's arm caught the oncoming halberd, batting it aside as it tore a gash in the machine's side - and then refusing to release it, holding the weapon close to its side. The Diam Sir outweighed the titan by a multiple of three, and the D-Extractor, while a poor man's imitation of the 12 Spheres, was presently forcing enough power into the machine to let it match Enfield, point for point - and as the Diam Sir collided with the Geminia, the two were carried forward at a surprising pace, Enfield seemingly refusing to release his hold. The surface of the Moon was torn up as Enfield's own thrusters engaged, throwing great waves of dust firing in all directions as they hurtled forward.

"How soundly you must sleep, your conscience feather-light!"

The colossus' hand shifted, closing about the shaft of the halberd, and light burst from between its fingers, briefly illuminating the features of the two battling foes. With a roar of twisting metal, the head of the weapon fell away, severed at the point where the Geminia had seized it, leaving only a sharpened, blackened pole in its place, still sizzling from the point-blank blast.

"Is that what you call 'Justice'? TELL ME!"

The Genion crouched, ready to rejoin the fray, frozen by Enfield's tone. James gripped the controls, fear swelling like a rising tide, pounding at him in tumultuous waves, threatening to drag him under and drown him. That was not a tone of voice he had ever heard before. He had faced that cold temper before, adapted to it, and rooted himself against it. But that underlying trickle of unhinged madness bubbling to the surface.

And how could he blame Enfield for how he was acting after what he had eavesdropped on?

"Why are you so quick to throw your own blood on the pyre? You saw what it did to others - what it did to me!"

He had disregarded those words before, dismissed it in his inability to understand or seek answers. The Alabaster Lady knew the pair would be livid with him for listening in to such a private conversation, and to reveal it now would be gas on this mad fire. He could run... The arbiter was a grand distraction for the moment. He could abandon the man to Gerart's madness and escape. Perhaps just long enough to send out an SOS, but who knew how large the static field was from that explosion. It could have carried for miles. It wouldn't take long for Gerart to finish his opponent off, and what chance did the two have where the entire royal guard failed? What hope was there to defeat him alone?

He closed his eyes, hands trembling with the pressure he put on the controls, definitely not the fear washing around him, ready to swallow him. He had been in this situation before, not too long ago. Gerart and Selene both had berated him for not running. Finally, the part of him holding on to his pride let it go. He had rushed in to be a hero that day, overconfident in his abilities to handle an unknown threat. One possibly arranged by his own mentor. Would Selene blame him if he ran now? Would Gerart? Despite everything, he still looked up to his mentor, who he used to be before he had been sent over the edge.

"...James... Gerart... he... stole our treasure... I tried to stop him... The ZONE... It was him..."

The hurt and anguish in her voice, hidden by the slipping mask of the cold, calm queen, rang through his ears. Gerart had not directly hurt her, not that he knew of at least. He was sure he would never hurt her either. Not physically. Emotionally... James' eyes snapped open. He pushed it all aside, allowing a void to form around him, throwing emotion and thought outside of it, letting it touch him only distantly. He grounded himself on one thought now. He could not let Gerart hurt Selene again. If he ran, Gerart would give chase, and in this state... he was not inclined to show mercy.

He could see it as he unleashed familiar techniques upon the Arbiter, ones that had left James in painful locks and on the ground with training weapons pointed at vital points followed by an amused grin and a playful 'You're dead'. Barring that, the corpses of his friends littered the battlefields. He would not run. He would not put his back to this opponent, terrifying as he was. He would not give Gerart the opportunity to throw him into the corpse pile.

"Justice?"

The machines met with tremendous force, though the impact was still far below the magnitude of the battering Vynatea had delivered upon the Giganscudo. That Gerart did not move to avoid his strike, despite it being well within his power to do so...was a good sign, such as things were. The man was confident. Arrogant. So assured in his victory that he allowed himself to take damage where it could have been avoided. The fabled 'Knight of Knights' would have allowed no such thing; viewed beside the increasingly drastic change in his demeanor, it was clear that Enfield was slipping badly. Whether the fault of the Sphere or some other madness, it was impossible to say for certain.

"Even should I fall, others will overwhelm you in time. Then you will know the meaning of our justice."

The Arbiter, however, had no mind to be stricken low this day. Even as the halberd's haft glowed white-hot with the awesome power of the Geminia he released his hold on the weapon; the duo's thrusters already burning bright in opposition, the Diam Sir rocketed forward with relative velocity far greater than it was capable of alone, though it did its damnedest to angle away to its left. The right hand, already outstretched from where it had grasped the halberd, clawed at the torso of the far larger machine as they came together, and it found purchase on the great hornlike protrusions that framed the nestled Sphere itself.

With a deafening scream of abused metal its grip dug in, the sudden addition of the pivot point swinging the barreling Sir around like a stone in a sling. Charles' periphery filled with a cacophony of warnings as the machine's tortured joints stretched to their limits and then some. Its mass swung under the Geminia's armpuit and round its torso, with the unit's left arm scrabbling for a handhold among the armor plates and other striations in colossus' rear as it collided once more with a heavy jolt. Charles jerked his controls to and fro all the while, the Diam Sir's thrusters firing wildly and at random in an attempt to unbalance and trip up the larger but lighter foe through judicious use of both its sheer weight and engines.

With luck, he would find purchase to cling to the small of the thing's back where Enfield would find great difficulty in reaching the Sir to dislodge it.

The Diam Sir's arm lashed out, gaining purchase on the chest of the Geminia as Enfield snarled, his own system's myriad warnings being fed directly to his mind by the weapon's PCS. Not for nothing had he pioneered the fusion of psychic power and military training, producing the Command Arts that were practiced all across Luna - and James observation would prove correct.

With a roar of its thrusters, the Diam Sir shot forward, attempting to swing about the titan's waist, seeming to gain purchase as it seized a chunk of the torso. Yet, even as the Arbiter's foot pressed the accelerator, and the screech of tearing metal filled the air, there would have been a sudden release of friction only moments later. Grasped in the machine's hand was the golden spur it had gripped, torn free by virtue of the Diam Sir's superior density. In that moment-

Enfield swung.

The Geminia's right arm raised - and then came down, elbow-first into a vicious hammer-blow, smashing into the Diam Sir's back with all the force it could muster, aiming to drive it down face-first into the Lunar dust below. As it did, Enfield's voice echoed into the surroundings, as the Sphere Machine's remaining palm glowed, neon green and star-white mixing in its grasp.

"Charge, Formenia!''

Lightwave particles flowed out as if onto a mold, shimmering out into the shape of a wide, threatening greatsword - one which glowed with an unusual light, surrounded by the recognizable, unearthly hues of Dimensional Power: A blade formed of pure particulate, held together by Origin Law. Were his prior strike to succeed, the Arbiter would find himself with the radiant point of the Formenia blade pointed down at his machine's visor... Daring it to rise.

"I'll admit..." Said Enfield, "That was gutsy, Charles! Didn't know you had it in you!"

He gave a short, sharp laugh before continuing, as if answering some silent question that had been posed to him, a smile crawling up the side of his face.

"Right." He murmured quietly, as if to himself.

"You're the kind of man who'll fight until the last breath."

James flipped off the com, focused soley on the Arbiter's frequency. "I need you to keep him completely distracted and trust me. I know you don't know me and have no reason to, but what I'm about to do is... probably the stupidest thing I've ever done in my life. Just hold him. Let go if you need to, but if you make a move to attack he will run you through."

He did not wait for a response from the Arbiter. He would have to move fast and silent. This was definitely a long shot. The longest shot there was. He was likely to fail too. But he had to try. There would be no stopping this thing... unless...

The Genion moved through the dust into position, where she had a straight shot at the Geminia. James edged her as close to the edge as he dared without giving his position away. He waited as the Diam grappled with Enfield. Then, James took a deep breath, and... The Genion burst forth from the dust, charging at the Geminia at her top speed. James pushed the Genion harder than he ever had before.

Should he succeed; At the last moment, the Genion slowed enough to latch on to the Geminia. A cascade of dimensional energy surrounded the Genion's hands as it grabbed the golden thorns caressing the sphere's casing, simultaneously gripping the thorns while pulling at them to bend them away from the casing, the goal clear: to pry the sphere out of the Geminia's chest.

Charles felt a rare, brief moment of panic as the golden horn let go under the Sir's weight. The smaller machine rocked wildly as its expected pivot pointed ceased to exist and it spun out of control - for that fraction of a second, the world was little more a smeared blur of purple and gold armor interspaced with the dull gray of moondust and inky black of open space. But its gyrations were rudely interrupted by the impact of the Geminia's descending elbow, and while the blow caught the rapidly rotating machine as a glancing strike rather than dead on, it was still enough to send it pinballing toward the surface with brutal force.

The collision yanked Charles against his restraints, knocking the wind from the man. He fought the controls even as he gasped for air, the Diam Sir wobbling haphazardly as it once again ascended, having stricken the ground with enough velocity to rebound into the air under the weak gravity. The displays indicated that even through the unit's heavy armor, it had sustained substantial damage to the left arm the the back binder on that side.

"At least," he wheezed back at Enfield, perhaps a bit ironically, "you'll give me that recognition." Now bereft of melee weapons beyond the makeshift club of the golden horn that was still - somewhat miraculously - in its grasp, the Diam Sir nonetheless charged in once more at the Geminia, left-side thrusters sputtering dangerously but holding for the moment.

"Then die with dignity."

Charles lunged. Enfield smiled. In an instant, the Geminia's hand adjusted its grip on the Formenia blade. Neural commands traveled from Enfield's brain, into the machine's PCS, up into the synthetic musculature and down into the machine's limbs as it prepared to end the Arbiter's life, pushing forward with just barely enough force to allow the fool to run himself onto the glowing blade that was easily the size of his own machine. Honor before reason - such was the credo of Luna's ruling class, and the Arbiter was nothing but an exemplar, right up until the very end.

Or so he thought.

Perhaps Enfield's reactions were dulled by the Sphere. Perhaps, deep within him, there was some part of his conscience still struggling. Or, perhaps it had to do with the young woman inextricably linked to the Genion's pilot, thundering at that very moment through the flow of time, causing untold ripples to spread and unfold across the continuum.

Or maybe, Charles had a guardian angel after all.

Whatever the reason, there was a split second hesitation on the part of the Geminia - and it was enough for its sister unit to bullishly close ranks. For the second time that day, the titan was pushed back, Charles grasp falling just short as the cerulean Gemini twin impacted its frame. The Genion's glowing fists lashed out, and found their mark, closing on the twin golden horns, as the Genion began to heave-

"That was stupid, James."

Enfield's voice crackled over the communications line, low, and dangerous - and immediately, James would know why.

There was a horrid crunch of metal as the Geminia's arms swung inward like a steel trap to receive its brethren, in a monstrous bear hug. Enfield rasped back once more, through gritted teeth.

"Did you really think that your stupid little plan... could beat me?"

The Geminia's eyes, now level with its diminutive twin's, flashed threateningly as it tightened its grip. Though the Geminia was light weight for its size... It was still more than strong enough to do the deed Enfield was willing its frame to do. The light of the Sphere, so close, must have been almost blinding - yet it pulsated with a kind of greedy, unnatural radiance, one that made the very space around it pulse and distort... much as it seemed to be distorting Enfield himself, as he hissed back:

"Do you have any idea how many bodies I've stepped over, James? For Selene? For Everglory?"

...there was a short, somber silence, as though the man himself seemed to realize what he was saying. Gerart Enfield had, of course... always been a man of relative solitude. Perhaps it was not simply because he was a loner... but that the expectations foisted upon him were more than they appeared. James had seen very little of his work, and he would often disappear for days to take care of some business or another for the Royal family. The Geminia's arms tightened, preparing to crush the Genion into little more than a smashed chunk of Lunar metal, the man's voice trembling as he continued:

"What's one more...?"

"No shit it's stupid. But have you looked in the damn mirror today? " James' tone lacked the amusement or desperate attempt to mimic it. Enfield would oboonly get pure anger and venom today. James winced as the metal chassis surrounding him groaned in a symphony of pained protests, echoing around in the cockpit like a funeral dirge.

The Genion struggled against the crushing hold. Her feet planted on the chest and pushed in a desperate attempt to get some breathing room. If she could hold on until the Arbiter got up... If the battered little mech could get up. "But you know I'm not just 'one more'. I'm someone you care about and who cares about you. Not what you could do to further me, you," James' voice softened, though forced. The tremble in Enfield's voice... if he could push down that anger and rage at his mentor. If he could just control himself for once! Maybe he could reach Enfield and get the hesitation he needed to break free.

If only he could get some room, just enough to slip out of the hold or give a good hit to the sphere. Something to interrupt the Geminia's power supply long enough! It was so close and so bright. The Genion's movements felt so much smoother and natural so close to it. "Don't give up on me now. " James muttered, half to himself, half to the machine he resided in.

The Genion's eyes flashed, almost as if in response to him, though it was coincidence through and through. The silver hues shifted blue, parts singing and taking on an emerald sheen as something dormant and hidden sprang to life. With a mighty push, the Genion put all the force of the GAI's activation into getting that breathing room, then, should that be enough, the fist burned with verdant energy, aimed square between the Geminia's eyes.

Metal screamed as the Diam Sir impacted the Formenia's razor edge. Even though Charles had avoided being skewered - through both Enfield's hesitation and his own efforts at evasion - the blade still bit deep into the machine's left arm. Damaged as it already was, the Grand Arbiter had thrown the heavily armored limb up between himself and the weapon as a makeshift shield. A great torrent of sparks flew forth, and there was a brief moment of hesitation in his movement as plate dragged against blade, but rapidly enough the lightwave sword separated the limb from its owner and the Sir was freed once more. It angled upward even as the Geminia clamped down on James' machine.

"Hold fast, young Steelheart!" Still clutching the severed golden horn with its remaining arm, the Diam Sir flipped the appendage around so its wide base lay against the unit's chest. The Super's charge curved in toward the back of the azure giant, intending to use the gilded spike against its former owner by driving it squarely into one of the joints between the armor plates that protected the other machine's rear torso with the full mass of Charles' unit behind it.

Metal buckled and screeched - yet despite himself, Enfield closed his eyes. He didn't want to see it. He didn't want to see what was about to become of his pupil, his... friend. How many years had it been, he thought, since he had done that? Since he had averted his gaze from a dying foe, unwilling to even give them that last, most minuscule respect? He pushed it down, pushed it away, feeling it tugging at the balance of his soul that was powering the Sphere now inextricably linked to it. Grieving could wait. For now, he had to-

His thoughts were interrupted, however, as a bright light shone. One that lashed at his eyelids, causing him to open them in confusion, squinting against the emerald glow.

He would never forget what he saw then, not for the rest of his life.

Within the Geminia's arms, the Genion suddenly seemed to expand. Parts shifted, surging outward, forming into a pair of broad shoulders, long, armored knees, and a pair of shining green wings that tore out of his grasp. As the transformation completed, and the head of the newly formed Genion Glitter Armament Infinity stared its shocked sister unit down, the Knight of Knights only had enough time to gasp a single word:

"Oh-"

With a whirlwind of motion, the Genion broke free, cracks running up the titan's arms as it reeled for the briefest of seconds - before two things struck it, almost simultaneously: The downed Arbiter's surprise attack stabbed deep into the chest of the Geminia, sending a shock of green sparks erupting in all direction, and then the GAI's fist impacted its head.

As if in slow motion, its head turned, verdant fractures running all across its face, snaking down into its upper body. There was a moment, as though the universe itself were taking a second or two to calculate the appropriate force contained in the GAI's own fist - before the Geminia was launched back, Enfield giving a cry of pain and surprise, sending a shockwave across the Lunar landscape as it did, shattered metal and chunks of golden particulate scattering in all directions as it did. It hurtled across the land, before impacting a cliff face some distance away - and the resulting force alone caused it to crumble as well, a silent avalanche of dust and rock billowing out in all directions.

No further motion was made from the titan, at least... for that moment.

The Genion GAI landed on her feet once the force of the blow sent the Geminia flying. The arm remained partially extended, as if the machine stared in disbelief in what had just happened, much like her pilot. James' brain did not register much at the moment. His mouth hung open like a fish as he stared at the monitor to the still form of the Geminia.

It took a good thirty seconds for everything to catch up and his mouth to finally work out the first thoughts in his head. "What the absolute fucking salty hell... Did you see that?!" He called out to the Arbiter, his voice going from slow disbelief to that of the tone a child would use when they were particularly proud of knocking the ball out of the park the first time.

The GAI lowered her arm with a terrible symphony of metal groaning before bursting forward at just under her normal top speed. James didn't want to push the mech, after all. And some caution wouldn't hurt. "Enfield, are you alright?" The giddiness of the Genion's attack was masked, just barely in his voice, though the concern he had for his elder brother was palpable.

The Arbiter, for his part, received little warning of the impending events beyond a great swell of viridescent light that illuminated their surroundings, the Genion itself being quite hidden from view by the bulk of their opponent's torso. Charles had time to glance up, distracted by the sudden glow even as his own attack was viciously driven home - and then Enfield's machine was launched bodily backwards by the force of James' blow. Even the Diam Sir's mass seemed little obstacle as the reeling foe knocked it aside, leaving him tumbling for the second time in as many moments until it righted itself.

"What is...?" It seemed that the Genion had more tricks up its sleeve than it had originally let on. Charles could do little but look on, mystified, at the transformed machine's new silhouette before replying to James' enthusiasm. "I certainly did. Don't lose focus." His own gaze turned to the Geminia, now some distance away and having been rather harshly introduced to the face of a lunar plateau. It was still and quiet...for the moment. Whether it stayed that way was another matter.

Turning with some difficulty, the Sir as well accelerated toward Gerart's fallen colossus. Its pilot, however, expressed no such concern over the man's well-being...
