It was two days after Shiseiten’s arrival and the subsequent catastrophical damage inflicted on Belfast by it’s attack, and for the second time Slask and Fabularis were about to head out to the city. Only this time Kvinna was with them. After what she had done yesterday Slask wanted her nearby where he could keep an eye on her.

“I still do not get why you need me here. Or why you would waste our time and energy with the humans.” Kvinna grumbled at him. She did not want to be here, but could not refuse either. Huvud made sure of that. Slask turned to look at her like she was the dumbest thing on the planet. Which really wasn’t far from the truth, as they had gone over this conversation far too many times by now.

’She really is dumb isn’t she.’ Johan snickered in his head.

“We need to do this to gather the negative energy we need with as little fuss as possible. It would attract unwanted attention and questions to us if we headed to town and did not do anything. The mission is to infiltrate, to blend in. You know this, if you don’t stop asking the same thing frequently I will send you to Huvud and suggest you’re fed to Fabula Forest.” Slask replied. Kvinna had been nothing but a liability so far, she would not be missed.

Kvinna’s body tensed as she gazed at Slask balefully, wanting nothing but to launch herself at the failure, but she forced herself back. Instead, she spat at his face. Slask carefully swept the spit away, outwardly not showing any reaction, though for a brief moment a spark of anger lit inside him. Deciding to offer his fellow Melior Esse more information, even if only to make her more receptive to his plans, Slask kept talking. “Understand that us offering this...aid to the humans here costs us nothing, and if anything will only benefit us in the long run. The gate is closed, here is an excellent source of energy. The more humans that survive now the more negative energy will be there later on, and if any see me as a protector the energy they will create will be that much more potent. Now, get in the Fabularis so we can go.”

Yesterday, he had only cleared the rubble and debris that Belfast was full of, but today as the two set out in Fabularis they had a large amount of supplies as well. Clothes, food, medicine and other essentials one needed to survive, carried in the cage that once had had a Lamalice in it.

Once in Belfast, Kvinna’s surly and angry mood had changed. Instead, she was almost…. giddy and Slask perfectly understood why. The amount of negative energy the city was generating currently in the aftermath of Shiseiten’s attack was tremendous, and Fabularis was siphoning and storing all that energy.
She was smiling. she was smiling. A bright, wide smile that Slask recognized as eerily similar to the one that often shined on Paula Delcroix’s face back when Johan had been in control, just not as friendly but heartwarming nonetheless. Something that Johan had clearly also recognized, as after a short stunned pause he felt Johan withdraw into his corner as much as he could. Something that quickly was followed by a clear increase in the negative energy that his human tag-along generated.

Slask rested his arm on Kvinna’s shoulder, garnering her attention. “Your job is to continue doing what I did yesterday. Aid the rest of Upsilon in moving the rubble from the buildings and streets destroyed by Shiseiten’s attack. Do not make any hostile moves.” Kvinna looked at Slask, clearly surprised that he would let her be inside Fabularis. “Do not be surprised. I will be on the ground among the humans, offering them disaster relief. This way we will be able to gather the negative energy without trouble.” With that, Slask climbed out of Fabularis. Hopefully Johan got over whatever he was feeling quickly. He might need his help.

As the two set out to do their parts one thing was clear to both:
Belfast would advance their goal. They would have gathered quite the amount by the time their harvest was finished.
