When the enemy warped away from the place, it was already too late for JR to stop his ship, he had already sent the "brake signal" to the ship, but the speed was already high enough, so he decided to quickly turn around the ship, barely evading the beam hitting the main bridge from which he was commanding the horned aerial unit.

The beam graciously cut part of the external armor of the ship, leaving a burning cut in its left side, as if the beam was a harpoon that was cutting through the bull's (Taura's) skin. It indeed left a deep wound in the ship. Thankfully, it was nothing his team of specialized mechanics (not interns) couldn't repair in a quick stop.

After checking if the comms were open with his clients (and making sure they were closed), a deep desire emerged from him, a desire of protecting his ship. This desire was manifested as an immense rage towards them. "Idiots! You are all a bunch of idiots who can't even listen to a bloody suggestion! "Pull back, please" I should've shot you as soon I saw you!" shouted JR while pulling his hair and stomping the ground of the ship.

After calming himself a little, he opened the communications with his clients again while gently combing his hair. He was still angry, but was no longer showing it. "Greetings, my fellow customers. I am J.R. of J.R. Incorporated. You asked for help, and we arrived. We'll talk about prices later, but first get on my ship so we can talk about your "friends"." said while opening the gates to the hangar of the golden ship.

“The Hot Dog Guy?”

Millicent contemplated the fact that the hey had been saved by their preferred brand of campfire wieners, glancing back over her shoulder to the refrigerator visible down the hall suspiciously.

“Copy that JR, Baker Street coming in for landing.”

The limping transport ship landed unceremoniously in the hangar, thankfully not falling apart as soon as it touched down. Millicent ran down to the exit ramp, curiously peeking her head out, clutching a taser. Just in case.

"Well, that's that."

Kenneth watched as the transport managed to land inside J,R.'s ship.

Wait, did...did he just mention price? Customers? Slightly befuddled, Kenneth relaxed somewhat, hoping that Millicent and company could foot whatever bill was coming their way. Usually rescue didn't warrant a bill.

One night test-and all of this came after it. With a mix of a groan and a yawn, Kenneth pushed the machine towards the newly arrived vessel. He needed rest. That would have to come first.

As they landed on the hangar, all they saw was a room full of empty cradles and construction material with the floor and walls colored in a slight grey color. The hangar was almost never used, so they just had all the equipment necessary for repairs stored. Hanging from the darker-colored ceiling, were some 40 inch TVs displaying the logo of the company, along with some usual Work Safety Announcements accompanied by a calm narration of what was on screen coming from the speakers that were appropriately spread across the hangar, so it would be heard just fine without hurting/disturbing the workers.

As they exited their respective vehicles and units, a group of 2 workers and an intern came to meet with them, coming out of a silver-colored automatic door in the other side of the room. These employees were wearing a standard company uniform, with a small logo of the company (2 centimeters) in the left side of the chest area.

"So, I assume you're the customers" Said the intern of the group, stating the obvious.
"Just follow us to the bridge, you'll meet with our president." Said the other worker.

As they showed them the way through the numerous corridors of the ship and onto the main bridge.

"Greetings, fellow customers. Let's skip my presentation, since I assume you must know me very well. Go ahead, take a seat." Said JR while pressing a button in the command board, thus replacing the chairs and making a table appear in their place with the chairs properly placed.

"Go ahead, my home is your home. But I'll be the one asking the questions." Said JR while his jovious look turned a bit more serious.

As he placed his hands against the table while standing, he asked the group of pilots that arrived a simple question: "First and foremost: Who are you and what are you doing here?"

Millicent cautiously took a seat, giving a man a cautious look over before, trying to wrap her head around the obvious conclusion she was grasping for.

“Holy shit you are the hotdog guy.”

She looked over at Kenneth with a brief look of bemusement before returning her attention today to JR. The turn in his mood was definitely unsettling, making her wish Indigo was here already.

As soon as it was clear JR was finished speaking, Milli filled the silence with her own introduction.

“Millicent Tremaine of the Ultra Detective Agency. And sightseeing, you know?”

———————

The hangar bay was suddenly greeted with the 17 meter mobile weapon leaping into the bay and carefully watching its step as it started to walk further in, its mass seemingly retreating into itself as the figure shrank down. The form soon gave way to a very tall android woman with a glowing jewel set into her chest as she stopped- well, they were presumably already stopped, she just patted their shoulder.

“Where’s everyone else at?”

The Virgola had strolled right in after Indigo, though it didn't pull off an impressive shrinking trick. The battle damage on the machine was evident, with scratched or pockmarked armor across its body. Clearly the thing's seen some combat.

And its weapon should also be of note-a large hunk of a gun, inset with a large, green jewel reminiscent of the one in Indigo's chest.

Kenneth had already left the machine, and was now with Millicent. Hopefully the mechanics here could fix it up-if the damage continued to accumulate, it was likely that the Virgola would not survive.

"hotdog guy?" he questions under his breath.

"I...it's a long story, at this point." Kenneth states flatly. "Kenneth Akeos, currently...unaffiliated. I'm the pilot of the Virgola, that blue machine in the hangar. Me and my machine were being transported with her." He gestured at Millicent.

The small giant was greeted by the figure of a veteran general, he was small in size, bald, with a pointy nose and a scarred right eye, along with other scars that could not be seen. He sported a military uniform slightly modified to be similar to the other workers suits.

"So, you're looking for them. Just follow me and I'll lead you to them, we should have time to give you a small tour through the ship on the way there." Said with a slightly molested tone, knowing that this was the start of a lot of work.

Meanwhile, the official mechanics along with three interns arrived to the hangar to give a quick fix to the stored units. "Finally, we'll be able to work with these machines, this will be a good experience for you, boys." Said the head mechanic to the three interns while getting ready to work. "Just don't do like Klaus and you'll be okay" said another worker referring to the traditional work safety video they show to the newcomers.

-----------------

JR was fairly impressed when he heard about the "Detective Agency", he started to think about hiring them for his division specialized in private investigations, but he still had to see them investigating to see for himself if they're worth to be hired.

"Excuse me, but there's no way this is simply sightseeing, as you were attacked by those insect machines for a reason. But that's not the point now, we, as a private company, don't usually offer our services for free. If you want to pay the bill, you'll have to stay with us for the moment, both as a safety measure and because there's already a mystery we need you to investigate. If you are successful (we'll provide you some help, of course), we could simply make a contract and ignore the debt.

Deal?" Said while offering his hand and slightly nodding his head.

"You.. definitely don't seem like you belong here, sir." The android spoke in as respectful a tone as she could muster, taking his scars into account. “This ship reeks of... Well, inexperience.”

——————

Milli nodded along as he spoke, curious at these claims, although his grounds for rescue seemed... Shaky.

“So... You're bandits holding us hostage then..? Cause that's not how rescuing people works. But... I am curious about this mystery, although we're already on a case."

Kenneth couldn't help but nod with Millicent.

"I'm inclined to agree with her-the fact that you consider a rescue mission a service feels-honestly petty, but I would still like to offer my thanks."

He leaned back, crossing his arms. "For the record, I can't offer you a reason as to why those...things decided to attack us, either. I've never seen them before."

"Someone has to properly train these boys, after all." Said the general while leading her into the ship's bridge.

-----------

"You see, we live in a world which is ruled by money. You either jump on it's tracks, or you fall of the train. I'm doing the natural thing here, and you have a chance to permanently earn your stay here. It's a win-win situation, my friends, you get to be in a genuine bona-fide ship powered with a cutting-edge engine, repairs whenever and however you want along with your jobs. If you'd like, I could even provide some assistance to your ongoing investigation." Said the business-man while walking and talking.

"You hear that? It's the sound of your contracts. Do we have a deal, my friends?" Finally said JR with a big smile. He was starting to get a bit angry at the thought of them continuing to reject his offers. If things come to worse, he'll probably have to kick them out of the ship, but hopefully that would not happen.

“Well. Let’s take a trial run, yes? See how we work together before we come to any conclusions.” Millicent nodded to Kenneth, hoping he would understand as she held out her hand to JR.

————

Indigo just stood in the doorways as she was brought into the room, just nodding politely to the others...

Something... interesting.

Kenneth looked back at Indigo.

A bizarre sensation sunk into the core of his being, silently grinding away at his soul. It was like nothing he had ever felt before-not fear or anxiety, he had already experienced plenty of that.

And it seemed vaguely directed, somehow, focused on someone in the room. Was it him? No, it tugged outwards.

He didn't have time to dwell more as Millicent spoke.

"Yes, we can do that." Kenneth sighed, clearly less than enthusiastic.

He gave a look at Millicent. We'll talk later is conveyed.
