A nice, peaceful night.

Desmond Terell kicked back in his seat, and gave a sigh of contentment. This was the kind of position people dreamed of being assigned to: head of a low-security, strategically irrelevant glorified warehouse. Occasionally the new Meyven's goons would stop by to drop something off, but these days it seemed to be mostly shuffling around Directory surplus. A Cosmolion was a deathtrap these days compared to what the Combine was putting out, he mused as he took a sip of his coffee, eyes moving across the monitors.

Nothing ever bothered them out here except the occasional raider, and the new-and-improved Bioroids they had marching around the place had cracked down on space piracy so hard it was practically nonexistent. Compared to his usual staff they were always compliant, always polite, and ruthlessly efficient. They also never took vacation, though the occasional maintenance downtime was still necessary, at least he knew when it would happen 90% of the time.

He closed his eyes, preparing to drift off into a well deserved nap.. but, something at the corner of his eye made him stir, movement to his right.

A massive, cycloptic face came into view, affixing him with a malevolent stare over what, for all in the world looked like twin rows of razor sharp teeth... and Desmond felt his courage fail him.

"Wh-Aaaaaaagh!"

The Ascalon 07A extracted its arm from the ruined section of the wall, blood now caking its fingers. Within the cockpit, Tilde Cortaine shook her head in disbelief. Sleeping on the job? In times like these? Small wonder the Combine was replacing people with Bioroids. The lumbering Special crawled insectlike across the surface of the asteroid before floating into a dock. A flash of its eye - and two guard drones were incinerated, their spiny forms bursting into flames as she charged forward, smashing down the door to the interior.

1618131488714.png

Hands grasping the inner wall as the void wailed around it, Tilde's ears pricked up as the sound of an alarm finally managed to reach her ears. Not only that, but contacts, closing in. She gave a low whistle. Finally, some excitement!

"Well, that didn't last long. Oh well."

She flipped a switch to her new ally, hopefully waiting on the outside in the void. The plan was simple enough: She would smash and grab, and he would keep the others preoccupied. Three minutes was all it should take she reasoned, as the Nemesis Series rocketed forward, tearing apart all manner of support structures, cranes and crates in its path. Their prize was here - now she just had to rely on him to make sure she didn't get trapped like a rat.

"Get to work, kid." She said cheerfully over the communications link;

"Show me you can make that hunk of junk dance."

“Says the woman with the childish demeanor.”

Dimidas replied as he spooled up the gatling gun attached to his Wildschwein Mk-II’s Frame Rifle. The electronic whirr of the weapon’s motor was all that could be heard as enemies began to zone in on the location. It wouldn’t be long before a swarm of enemies would swallow both him and Tilde up. She had to hurry before that could happen.

”I’m counting on you to finish your job in there quickly. So just be quick about it and don’t play around. We’re running on the clock here.”

The eye-like sensors of the Wildschwein Mk-II (also simply known as the Ritter) would light up, flashing green as it stared out into the empty space before it, which was very much going to be filled to the brim with enemies very soon. Dimidas didn’t like this one bit, usually an Op like this would be carried out with a small team. Well, a team bigger than at least two Mobile Weapons. This time, it was just him, the Combine, and the empty vacuum of space, anything could go wrong without the proper backup.

It didn't take long at all.

A distant, infinitesimal pinprick made itself distinct from the void, easily mistaken for a distant star - at least initially. Yet, as the watchful eyes of the Wildschwein would no doubt notice, it was growing brighter with each passing second.

The slim, streamlined silhouette of the Beautifra rocketed towards its destination, roaring thrusters leaving a magnificent trail of blazing blue in its wake. Bertrade Agralaya shifted restlessly within the cockpit, her stomach churning - unable to quell the building anxiety within her gut. This was, needless to say, a new experience. Not the act of piloting itself - it would be silly to send a novice out on something as obviously critical as this. As a matter of fact, she was quite the competent pilot, at least theoretically - considering her line of work, it was a necessity. What proved disconcerting was the simple but damning fact that she was alone. As of matter of fact, she had passed the other sortied machines long ago.

It was a painfully new experience not to have a squadron of bioroids - her bioroids, the best of the best, ones she knew she could depend on to save her life and the lives of others - at her immediate beck and call. At least, with time, backup would arrive.

As the Beautifra darted into the combat zone, the monocle-like sensor mounted in the right eye's place focused on the still-distant Wildschwein, already sizing up the enemy. If Dimidas' sensors could do the same, he would behold a machine that seemed to defy standard design conventions - omitting manipulator arms and articulated legs in favor of sword-like forelimbs and an insect-like abdomen.

An almost relieved breath.

"You don't seem so bad."

With a gentle tug on the controls, the Beautifra adjusted its course with frightening speed, rapidly climbing upwards relative to the Wildschwein. The green gem-like crystal set into its chest gleamed, and a moment later an almost surprisingly powerful beam of azure-tinted light was unleashed in the Ritter's direction, easily enough to inflict crippling damage with a direct hit.

Seeing only one Mobile Weapon approach somewhat worried Dimidas, was this thing good enough to take on a lot of enemies? It surely looked up to the task with the modifications it has which stray from conventional design. Blades arms and legs replaced by thrusters, it no doubt was made for close quarters high speed combat. At least that was his thought before the azure beam was sent towards him.

He would grunt as warning alerts told him to move out of the way from that chest blast. He managed to evade it thankfully before he aimed the Frame Rifle at the enemy, unloading endless gatling gun fire to keep them pressured while occasionally firing the beam rifle section of the Frame Rifle whenever he had clear shots. This wasn’t going to be an easy fight, he certainly wasn’t expecting an ace like this to show up so quickly.

”Seriously, where does the budget of these groups even go?”

The Frame Rifle was of course not going to be a permanent fixture of his arsenal, he would have to ditch it sooner or later just to keep up with this thing.

The Ritter's shots failed to connect as the Beautifra dodged and jinked through the stream of bullets at blinding speeds, with several shots coming tantalizingly close to connecting - but alas, it was simply too fast, always managing to vanish out from under what seemed like certain hits at the last possible moment. Sooner or later, Dimidas would run out of ammunition, and then he would have nothing to keep it at bay.

At the very least, he was succeeding at keeping it from closing to melee range immediately. Bertrade was good enough to evade, but she lacked the experience needed to continue advancing - all she was really doing was throwing the machine around wildly to avoid being struck.

Ordinarily, for a close combat type, this would be a problem.

"Safety, OK. Fire!"

The Beautifra's abdomen split open to reveal a bank of missile launchers, and it spun to briefly reorient itself in the Ritter's direction before releasing a salvo - enough to fill the Wildschwein's displays with screaming alarms. Bertrade jammed the throttle forwards, darting in behind the homing projectiles. Dimidas would have to briefly divert attention to the missiles - if he didn't, they would almost certainly hit, considering he was lugging around such a heavy weapon. That momentary distraction was all she needed.

The blade-like forearms separated down their lengths, and the gap was briefly filled with a diffuse green glow before the Beautifra's pair of laser blades burst from their emitters. The machine readied for a slash as it straightened out its trajectory, aimed squarely at the Ritter's right shoulder.

Seeing that the Beutifra was making a move to advance, Dimidas wasted no time dropping the Frame Rifle before boosting away from it, letting some of the missiles hit the rifle, destroying it. From there, he fired the head vulcans at the missiles as they came closer and closer towards him. With the rest of the salvo coming way too close, would have to rely on the Wildschwein’s signature weapon.

”Beam Ripper! Blade mode!”

The circular device on the Wildschwein’s would light up green as a large beam blade emitted from it, pointing forwards with the arm as it slashed apart the remaining missiles and dissipated the energy from the launched energy blades from the Beutifra. As the Beutifra charged towards the Wildschwein, the large beam blade would clash with the Beutifra’s slash.

”Closing the gap won’t do you good like that!”

The Wildschwein would pull out a Rail Cannon it had on its side skirting, the small revolver-like frame was pressed against the Beutifra’s frame as it fired off multiple rounds in succession in an attempt to deal heavy amounts of internal damage. This would be before the Wildschwein backed off while still firing rounds at the Beutifra. It would soon keep the rail Cannon however before pulling out a beam rifle which charged up a shot, firing a buster rifle style beam, one that would be fired at the Beutifra and would attempt to follow it while the beam kept on firing for that moment.

Bertrade broke away from the blade-lock, the Beautifra accelerating from its dead halt back into little more than a constantly turning blur within the blink of an eye - though not before an electromagnetically-accelerated slug left a sparking wound in the machine's side near its hip, having plowed cleanly through the relatively weak armor plating.

The bioroid technician grimaced, briefly assessing the damage. The self-repair systems onboard would ensure that any lost function would be recovered quickly enough - but a hit like that this early didn't bode well for the rest of the battle.

She had to apply more pressure.

"Tri-Driver, launch!"

A trio of whirling, bladed discs separated from the machine's back - essentially little more than flying buzzsaws. Though it was difficult to get a clear look at them once they were in motion, perhaps Dimidas would be reminded of the Slash Ripper remote weapons fitted to Gespenst units - though whatever programs and technology governed the movements of these particular armaments were evidently more advanced. They fanned outwards, skirting the incoming beam, before moving erratically towards the Wildschwein, aiming to converge upon its head.

Though the constant ray of energy was certainly a threat to be avoided, it wasn't the same kind of suppressive fire that gave Bertrade trouble before. She was already turning around, readying herself for another pass.

“Remote weapons. Like anything else in battle, they have a pattern too.”

The left arm would turn off the beam blade as it grabbed the second Rail cannon on its side skirt. From there, the Wildschwein would continuously fire another Buster shot and as the Tri-Slashers would move to dodge it, he would fire his rail cannon to destroy them. As they could not tell which one would be shot at by the rail cannon after having just dodged the buster rifle beam shot, it would be next to impossible for at least 2 of them to escape Dimidas’ accuracy.

With the last Tri-Slasher approaching, the Wildschwein would holster all of it ranged weapons as the Beautifra came charging in as well. It would pull out a large physical sword which was then split into two smaller swords held in each hands, both of which proceeded to emit a purple glow at the edges of their blades.

”Zweihander, double mode.”

With the final Tri-Slasher on approach, the Wildschwein would activate its Beam Ripper’s beam blade once again. Should that attack be dodged, the next step to attempt to destroy it would be to use the head vulcans, followed by the blade in the right arm and then the blade in the left arm. Due to the Beam Ripper’s beam blade, it would be able to possibly still hit the Tri-Slasher during the final swing.

“Here they come. More strikes and the Fafnir Converter can do its job.”

The Wildschwein would attempt to block the strike again whilst moving underneath the Beautifra’s strikes in order to get some hits in on the thruster section with a horizontal slash as well as a vertical one that would travel up the chest. Should the Beautifra still function afterwards, this move also served as a form of tackle to distance the Wildschwein from its target once it separated from the strike.

The destroyed Tri-Drivers spun out into space, reduced to scrap, and the Beautifra blasted past their remains, blades meeting blades in a burst of light.

In a battle of agility, the Wildschwein remained noticeably inferior - and it seemed Bertrade had learned her lesson from the previous exchange of blows, as instead of pressing the attack her slashes came in the form of passing hit-and-run strikes, offering Dimidas no opportunity to counter before his opponent sped back off into the vacuum. As such, the Wildschwein's furious swings failed to reach.

Still, she wasn't making any progress. The Beautifra had taken some damage, but the Ritter's paint remained untouched. He had too many weapons, too many tricks, too many options. Even if reinforcements couldn't be too far out by now...

The green glow of the laser blades cut out, abruptly replaced by flickers of cerulean light. The bladed portions of the forearms opened even more, now resembling claws, and instead of the familiar saber-like jets of wavering energy a pair of glowing razor-sharp disks formed, growing rapidly in size.

"Illusion Saucer!"

The Beautifra whirled, hurling one of the massive cutting implements in a curving trajectory from the Wildschwein's left, before it charged in for what would hopefully be the final time - bringing the remaining disc down in an attempt to bisect Dimidas' machine, or at least destroy whatever weapon he chose to parry it with.

As the whirling death began, the Beautifra commencing its assault. For the assailant things moved from bad to worse, two machines blasting forward from the vast void of space. Twins, two almost goat like machines which dashed onto the scene.
"So, the alarm." One said to the other "Still ongoing, breach situation." The other reaffirmed.

The voices were the same as they had a chat between themselves.
"Right but this battle is happening outside."

"Another machine?"

"Perhaps multiple."

"Seems to be more than a simple test of defenses."

"So we should expect the situation to change."
The two women were in agreement, switching their comms from private to join the chatter enabling communication with their ally. The two machines spreading out as they did so, one moving to join the fray with the other moving past to investigate the breach.

For the one which entered the fight there was no easy way to close the gap with her ally's own attack, not that she particularly minded as this machine was best suite for striking while staying on the move, and doing so to a target in the midst of such an assault gave her an idea. A grenade, though such a name hardly did it justice.
It was more like a crystalline diamond which was thrown into the mix, chasing down her foe before detonating and in turn expanding into a massive energy cube, shredding those within its blast radius. This was in turn used by the new arrival to cut off exit routes from their foe by throwing it initially a bit further behind him.

The homing would correct it to lock one side of retreat.

Meanwhile the second flew over, towards the point of entry. Gaze peeled for what was setting off the breach signal, intending to find out their identity or lack thereof.

As the Getviewm joined the battle, the first of what would undoubtedly be a stream of reinforcements, there was a telltale rumble on the HUDs of all present. An energy signature pulsing from the asteroid base, growing with each passing second. Moments later, red cracks pulsating with light shot across its flank, snaking out all across its black, bulbous form, like a balloon that was fit to burst-

1618549551901.png

And then... It did.

A full quarter of the station, vaporized in an instant, sending rock and shrapnel flying in all directions. Bolts of crimson lightning lashed the remains, shattering it into even smaller pieces before the storm started to subside, the glow retracting towards its source at the heart of the destruction.

As the smoke cleared, standing at the heart of the disaster was the lithe, silver form of the Ascalon. Its head and wings unfolded from their firing position, the four lights at its heart glimmering and crackling from the aftermath of the Celestial Buster. One hand grasped a long, silver sword now flecked with blood and oil from the hapless defenders that had attempted to bar its path, and the other-

Clutched tightly in its claws was what looked like a container of some kind, clear and transparent, filled with a lumious orange gel and chunks of biomechanical material that resembled a metallic spine. Droplets of this glowing liquid dripped from between the Special's fingers as it craned its neck up to spy the new arrivals... and the Beautifra.

"Still alive, Dimidas?"

A quizzical voice chimed in over the communications channel as it watched the back and forth between the two. What a beautiful machine, thought Tilde as she leaned forward in the cockpit, all the better to get a closer look at its movement patterns. Hadn't expected the Colonists to be able to mount a response this fast, but... Surprise, surprise, the old assumptions were proven wrong once again.

"Sample status... Intact. You've done well."

The Ascalon raised a hand into the air - and something burst from its wrist, spiraling up into the air before it detonated, a bright light shining across the battlefield. In the distance, a white light winked back at the Special, which it noted with a nod of approval. It wouldn't be long now.

"Signal flare, released. Time until evac... Four minutes."

The now free hand went back, seizing one of the long, silver swords in its wings, bringing it forward to its front so that it drew a semi-circle in the ruined ground. Tilde couldn't help but give a grin.

"Well then." She said, as the Special began to take off.

"Let's see if you can entertain me that long."

It shot up like a bullet, white energy flaring from its rear boosters as it drew a bead on the new arrivals. Its eye glinted for a brief second - and a beam slashed out, curving across space as it homed in mercilessly on the leading Getviewm, sweeping over its grenade. The sword-carrying arm came up as it accelerated, illuminating its grinning features - before the barrel set into its forearm illuminated, unleashing a hail of fire from the built in large-bore machinegun, capable of ripping apart a lesser Mobile Weapon as it moved to intervene between the pair and its embattled ally.

He would smirk at her chiming in on the comms.

”Well you certainly took your sweet time in there. But don’t get cocky with these guys after dealing with all those other soldiers inside.”

Seeing the incoming attack from the Beautifra, Dimidas swung the left arm of the Wildschwein outwards as it released the Beam Ripper.

”Remote disk. Now this should exhaust more of your options.”

The circular weapon formed a beam blade around its circumference, moving around like a discus flowing with the wind as it flew at the blades of the Beautifra and attacked them.

Should the blades be disabled, Dimidas would rush in to attack alongside the still deployed Beam Ripper to attack the Beautifra. First off disabling movement by using the Beam Ripper to cut off any avenues of escape while the Wildschwein would cut down the Beautifra, mainly aiming for the thrusters to disable its movement completely. The Beautifra would also begin to lose power with each melee strike as the Wildschwein’s Fafnir Converter began to steal its energy.

Should the blades not be disabled, all the Dimidas could do it move towards one of the new aces that showed up and hoped that they would get caught in the crossfire while the Beam Ripper still attempted to do its job.

"Lance Corporal De Bougher," Bertrade noted, evidently relieved. "Your assistance is-"

A system alert pulled her attention away briefly. High-energy reaction? But what-

A bright flash of crimson. Bertrade brought up a hand, instinctively shielding her eyes as she adjusted course slightly. A second enemy. Of course. Nothing was easy these days, was it? At least back then they had Madin's shining optimism.

"Appreciated."

It was time to finish this. The Ascalon looked daunting to face - and the two Getviewms, formidable as she knew them to be, suddenly appeared dangerously insufficient.

The detached Beam Ripper and the thrown Illusion Saucer clashed edge-to-edge, sparks of energy flooding forth as the two violently collided. Yet, inevitably, perhaps unexpectedly, the Ripper's beam blade yielded abruptly, and it was promptly split in two. Thankfully, Dimidas' action was not for naught - the Saucer spun away, deflected from its lethal course.

However, the other one-

As the Wildschwein pressed the attack, Bertrade did the same, swinging the remaining disk to meet the Ritter's blade.

"Don't underestimate the Beautifra!"

The result would likely be predictable. The whirling edge was poised to cut straight through the Ritter's own weapon, then further - on a path to shear the machine's arm away. This, after all, was her strongest attack, and Dimidas would pay for underestimating it so severely.

This time, Bertrade would not offer any time for him to retaliate. Point-blank range was not good for her - she pulled the Beautifra back, hurling the disk at the Wildschwein's legs before the concealed missile bay opened once more, spewing a second salvo of explosives - once again, it mattered little if they actually reached their target, for it was merely a distraction for what came next.

The machine pulled back its free arm, igniting its laser blade once more, and thrust forwards. The limb detached, snaking forwards on a wire connecting it to the main body, aimed to impale the Ritter's head.

The foremost Getviewm eyed the area suspiciously right before the detonation took place, a scowl on her features Remedy mumbled something.
"ˢʰᵉ ᵍᵉᵗˢ ᵗᵒ ᵍᵒ ᵒⁿ ᵛᵃᶜᵃᵗᶦᵒⁿ ᵃⁿᵈ ʷᵉ ʰᵃᵛᵉ ᵗᵒ ᵈᵉᵃˡ ʷᶦᵗʰ ᵗʰᶦˢˀ" An affirmative grunt besides her before Bertrade got herself a reply. "We'll remain with the new arrival ma'am." A matter of fact response to the changing situation as the flare went 'airborne'.

"Heist, not defensive test." She noted as the gel filled cube was observed.

"We stop them from taking it then."
It was courteous to ask before borrowing, even children knew that even if they could not tell between yes and no at the best of times. And as such the enemy pilots had declared themselves worse then even them. For shame.

But for the more life threatening matters: As the Ascalon dove forward the Getviewm's beam sabers lit up, the new foe was fast. Faster than expected, forcing the two 'tails' of the machine to coil in front of it as the beam shot forward, not in time to catch the opening shot to this race but in time to receive the rest of the volley that came after the beam. Thus the first blast tore a hole in the left shoulder of the Getviewm before the sturdy material of the 'tails' could catch the bullets with minimal structural damage. The woman inside grunted in annoyance, she didn't like this situation, her machine was quick- hit and run. This one would be able to keep up with one of her and especially if the beams could keep up that would end poorly.

But that also caused her to smile a bit, one of her this pilot could keep up with. However, there were more than one-

To the Ascalon's flank the second Getviewm now dedicated its efforts at the larger machine instead of Dimidas giving the man at least one angle of reprieve. However, for the Special the numbers were now against it accompanied by the unusual approach as the second Getviewm began spinning with its tails wide in a counterclockwise method. A plan to simply knock the orange gel out of its hands and towards the Beautifra and first Getviewm. Arguably into danger and away from the now officially able to be called ruins behind them.

This spin would then reveal a light within as the second Getviewm had its own beam saber which it aimed at the Ascalon's equally demonic features, the lone eye within its head making for an appealing, and large, target. Coinciding with this the Getviewm which suffered the first assault turning to the offense, the tails in front of it coiling back as it dove to the other side, dragging both beam sabers with it aiming to cut a gash into the side of the machine. A dual attack to sandwich this foe between two slices of Remedy.

The Ascalon barreled down upon its twin foes, watching them part before it like the waves of the red sea before Moses. That was, of course, the expected outcome - only a fool would stand before a charging rhinoceros after all. And what would come next would be - Tilde's eyes flicked to the side as one of the two approached, pirouetting gracefully through space like an aerial jester towards her "blind" side. The pincer attack.

"You think you can stop the Nemesis-"

Instantaneously, as if it had been preparing for this outcome, the Ascalon reversed its grip on its weapon, flicking it casually behind it as its thrusters flared, illuminating its entire form.

"-with these TOYS?"

A whirl of silver, and the Nemesis ripped to its left, bringing the Ender Blade around close to its body in a bifurcating swipe that aimed to tear into the midsection of the spinning Getviewm, easily carrying enough force behind it to cleave the smaller machine in half in one blow, eerie white energy trailing off the surface of its blade. As it rounded on one, the second Enigma Machine's attack struck out, blades slicing into the abdomen of the giant such that they left two dark gashes across its surface, spewing oil and sending shocks of electricity up the machine's waist.

Undeterred however, the Ascalon's elbow snapped down, aiming to cave in the smaller machine's head, followed immediately by a rocket-assisted kick to the midsection as giant brought its momentum around, holding its prize close to its chest.

Seeing one blade getting deflected was enough for Dimidas. He would just have to deal with the second one himself. He would move to block with both swords in hand. As he saw it move for his arm, he knew that the impact would be inevitable. So he decided to brace, blocking with both swords in a way that would deflect the Beautifra’s blade to the side, it would end up cutting apart the smaller blade while damaging to larger one as it moved to cut apart the upper arm, damaging it severely. Still, it was enough to still remain functioning. He would ditch the broken short blade as he replaced it with a beam saber that came from the undamaged shoulder unit.

“You’re on your last legs, huh? Unless they have one last weapon, they’re just delaying their inevitable defeat.”

Seeing the disk moving for his legs, he would use that angle to use both blades to cut it down while also jetting his legs back so that he would be parallel with the disk’s trajectory, ensuring his legs would be undamaged. With that blade taken care of, he would jet backwards, using his head vulcans to destroy the incoming missiles. In the cockpit, his eyes darted back and forth as a laser tracked his eye movements, using it as a guide to target each missile that came its way.

“Give up now and I won’t have to cut you down!”

He quickly sent over said message before quickly moving toward the Beautifra. While he was fighting for someone, he wasn’t looking forward to making enemies in the other factions this time around. He knew that something was up in Jericho’s faction. In time, he would need more friends than enemies.

A warning would warn him if the incoming attack, he would only have a split second to react, but it would be just enough as the second blade he managed to deflect with his Beam Ripper came back to attack him. He would deflect the blade downwards as it came towards him using the shorter blade, before using the longer blade to cut it in half. Limiting the Beautifra’s combat options. With that, the Wildschwein would charge in whilst keeping the beam saber and would use only the remaining blade of the Zweihander.

Dimidas would move in once again, moving to strike the thrusters once again. But that however was a feint as it soon moved to strike the abdomen with a thrust. After said thrust, the Wildschwein would quickly back away, not wanting to get fried by the Beautifra’s chest cannon.

An alert flashed on the central console, highlighting the now-destroyed arm in red on the display. That attack had failed - was she somehow too slow? Or was the enemy pilot experienced enough to sense it coming? Intuition was such a silly thing. She could never seem to get it right in her programs.

As the Wildschwein advanced, the Beautifra raised its one remaining arm, igniting its laser blade once more. The self-repair systems had already kicked in, Bertrade noted with a sense of relief - the damage inflicted by the previous railgun shot had already closed over with a layer of armor, and the nanomachines were already hard at work attempting to replace the missing claw.

Still, the system most certainly had its limits. Suffering any more damage would be unwise. The Ritter lashed out with its weapon, and she pulled her machine away, throwing up a hasty guard - in the wrong place, and the strike slipped through. Another spot of red on the display appeared, the alarms screamed loudly, and a miniature explosion sent scraps of molten metal spraying away from a fresh injury in the machine's abdomen. Once again, the Beautifra's superior speed had saved her - increasing the distance just enough to prevent catastrophic damage.

Thruster output falling. Dammit.

"Offering mercy? Don't kid yourself." Bertrade seethed over the commlink in response. "We're enemies. Don't go about trying to change that now!"

It seemed Dimidas' intuition was correct, as the gem in the Beautifra's chest glowed-

And then the machine abruptly turned away, spinning rapidly to face the still-engaged Ascalon.

"Get away, Lance Corporal!"

The beam of energy slashed across space as the Beautifra completed its maneuver, aimed to strike the hulking Special squarely in its torso. However, she wasn't stupid enough to ignore the Wildschwein's continued presence. If he struck again, she still had enough engine power to get out of harm's way again - well, that was the hope, anyways.

"Crud." The spinning Getviewm saw the incoming blade but while it had the power to cut the machine in half its 'tails' were made to endure much sterner stuff. A gash went halfway into the block of metal it spun with, the other upside to spinning, that cut coming straight down the middle would spin with as the blade got dragged along with the momentum of the Getviewm, a clean sheet of metal was flung into space, hanging in between the Nemesis and the Getviewm. One downside for Remedy however.

This had functionally disabled the Arbit Blaster. Rendering her strongest weapon utterly inert for this fight as well as preventing her from relying on her regular method of defense. To say nothing of the impact within the Getviewm, luckily she was in her seat as any loose objects around rocked against the ceiling, including her hat. The impact itself sending the machine careening upwards, forcing itself to stop its spin and steady itself above.

The other Remedy had a bit more fortune, the attack and the warning by Bertrade. Green lights flared up as the machine's thrusters ignited, carrying its sideward momentum away with a turn and more active thrusters leaving naught but empty space in the path of the elbow. Both Getviewms simultaneously hanging in the air, gazing down at the foe carrying its loot.
"So if recovery is impossible should we aim to destroy?" One asked.

"Given that beam, probably."

A nod between them, the upper Getviewm aimed its hand down a set of four energy grenades catapulting down at the foe aiming to strike the upper half of it with four detonations over the whole area. The second enigma machine dashed further towards the Beautifra. Out of its shoulder sections two purple beams shot out directing and homing on the Nemesis. While the Beautifra aimed for its torso and 'she' aimed for the upper half this instead went for the almost twig like legs. If nothing else this would destroy its stabilization, but mainly this was to close routes of escape.

Speaking of, with that done the Getviewm slung itself around 180 degrees, gaze falling on the machine backing off. A guardian for one's flank should the Wildschwein try any funny business.

As the Getviewm prepared its energy grenades, were it to raise its eyes, it would have met with a terrifying sight. The arm of the Ascalon, outstretched, ready to bring its colossal Enders Blade crashing down on the Enigma Machine. For a moment, it was as if time was frozen, all invisible but the murderous glint in that cold, cycloptic eye. But then-

"Get away, Lance Corporal!"
"...!"

The Beautifra's beam punched out from the dark, causing Tilde to jerk the controls in an emergency evasion that slammed her teeth against one another with such force she almost could hear them crack. The Super Robot's thrusters flared - but it wasn't quite enough. The outstretched arm was severed at the elbow, disintegrating and warping into crumpled metal chunks under the concentrated photon beam. Grenades bursting about its body, the smoking Ascalon pulled up and away at full thrust, the homing beams carving gashes in its torso as it clutched its cargo tightly.

"Not bad, aliens."

Within the cockpit, Tilde smiled. She could taste the blood filling her mouth. Yet, there was not a hint of pain or fury in her voice. If anything, she seemed even more alive than before as she tapped away at the cockpit unhurriedly.

"Unfortunately, we don't have any more time to play."

A distant glint of emerald - and a series of beams began to rain down on the battlefield. A squad of squat, viridian humanoid machines was approaching, each of the five Zechariah cradling a brand new, factory-fresh rifle. As almost irresistible as the challenge of crushing all three of them with just one arm was... Yes, she had to fulfill her mission first.

All of this... was about his dream.

"Lord Jericho will make better use of this than you ever will." She said wetly, thumbing the red switch at the heart of her console.

"ASRS, activate!"

Wreathed in a sphere of white, the Special took off at maximum speed towards the Zechariah, which began to lay covering fire down on the Beautifra and Getviewm alike, trying to make an opening for Dimidas to escape as well.

As he saw the Beautifra make a sharp turn as it disengaged from Dimidas. What in the world was it…

The space around Dimidas froze for a second. It seemed like timed stoped for a moment as he saw where the Beautifra was to point it’s beam. Tilde… it was going to shoot Tilde. His eyes widened as his breath became stuck in his throat. Echoes of the past began to whisper in his head.

“Captain, you need to go! We’ll hold them off for as long as we ca-“ An explosion blew a hole in the hull of the ship. No, it wasn’t just an explosion, a mega particle cannon ripped right through the whole ship. In that moment, all his crew was dead. His home was gone, atomized. All he could remember was his disbelief and lack of air as he shouted towards the monitor in rage and in sadness. But there was nothing but the empty vacuum of space and the war to drown out his shouts.

His eyes zoomed back into focus as the Beautifra fired its chest cannon. No, not again, he wouldn’t let another ally die so quickly. “Tilde, behind you!” He warned as quickly as he could over the comms as the Wildschwein dashed forth towards the Beautifra. He knew that the nimble machine would dash away if he tried to hit it again with a close quarters attack, so he did something else entirely. His pupils narrowed, almost like that of a reptile’s before he threw the long Zweihander blade right towards the Beautifra as it spun in a circular motion. While it did so, he threw the beam saber in a similar manner, this time to the upper right of the Beautifra’s current location to close off any chances of it possibly escaping in that direction. Despite it’s usefulness, drawing out the beam rifle wouldn’t be quick enough, so he opted for the next best thing as he drew his Rail Cannon revolvers. Since the Beautifra was going to blast away with its main thrusters which were below it, there was little chance that it could escape quickly by boosting below the attack, meaning that the only way it could go was up. Dimidas squeezed the triggers before unloading a barrage towards the Beautifra.

Regardless of what the result was, he saw the Zechariahs approach as Tilde managed to survive the blast from the Beautifra. Looks like the cavalry was here, meaning the main garrison wouldn’t be far either, they needed to leave, now. He grunted as he felt like finishing off the Beautifra, he never truly held a grudge like this before. Why did he feel it? Was it this world or was it his past experiences that made him like this? For now, he didn’t know which was the answer in the heat of battle.

“ASRS, deployed.”

The retreat system activated and super charged his engines before he boosted off towards their extraction point, his signature went off the map as he tried to leave.
