Following the unification of the Lunarian Military and the Directory under orders of Queen Selene, the Baron took the matter of organizing a personal defense entourage into her own hands. Gathering qualified individuals she respected from among the Lunarian Knights, individuals who prided themselves in their skills and strength more than their bloodline, Erina Doban reestablished the Royal Guards, and organized her own squad that she called the ‘Lunarian Gentlemen’. Members of the Gentlemen were hand-picked for their eccentric behavior and unique disposition that the Baron found ‘hilarious’ and ‘great for conversation’.
The main goal of the Royal Guard was to act as a Shield for Queen Selene in case another Ashford incident arose, and to respond to any emergencies that threatened the peace that so many had fought to secure. The Gentlemen were the Sword, the Ace in a deck of cards at the Queen’s disposal. Every member was more than prepared to die for the young monarch, for the pride they took in her being their leader was second only to their confidence in their supremacy in combat.
The Hierarchy within the Gentlemen is different than a normal military unit; there is no room for ranks, and the leader is whoever is most distinguished and prepared to respond to the situation. Each pilot is confident in their abilities and strength, and more than willing to take the position of Commander if the Baron is unable to. She trusts each one of them to guard her back and fight alongside her in combat.
