Population:Difficult to gauge. Estimated at 2,000 civilians and ~500 soldiers or pilots.
Goals: Extermination of the Ruina and other threats alien to L'sola.
History:
After the Lunar Shock and the resulting destruction of much of the middle east and north Africa, Directory support in the region completely collapsed. Small groups of civilian survivors and those who refused the evacuation formed nomadic groups, attempting to reach safety and defend themselves from those in the region that had turned to banditry. Few lived through those six months, but many who did credited their survival to a 'Golden Angel' - an entity that struck at random, destroying DAMONs and other threats before vanishing. Over time these sightings became more common, the witnesses forming their own religion with this being at the centre.
She only took notice of it after one particularly large group started following her, and initially brushed the group off until they began independently eradicating DAMONs and bandits while bearing iconography depicting her. Following this was contact was established, and XN-L accepted the society that had Chosen her as their saviour.
XN-L herself rarely addresses the society that has formed around her - the first official declaration she made listing the captain of the Forsaken as her mouthpiece on civilian matters.
Look and feel:
At their core the Chosen are refugees - the only consistent feature is inconsistency. Most soldiers or enforcers use their old directory uniforms with the insignia removed, although mobile weapons or vehicles will typically have the image of her 'Flag' painted over their original identification. Gold or white iconography is common, and areas in which the chosen have been are often littered with graffiti depicting the giant or praising her.
Mobile Weapons and other equipment:
Zectar
A civilian mobile worker, modified for private security use in the former middle east. Primarily equipped for anti-personnel combat with their Beam Machine Gun, but are somewhat able to function against lighter mobile weapons. All models used by the chosen are painted white and gold to make their affiliation clear.

The Chosen utilise a varied mix of former Directory Mobile Weapons and modified civilian suits, in varying states of repair.
Killer Whale
The Forsaken is currently the main transport vessel used by the Chosen, and was seized by defectors in the aftermath of the Directory's withdrawal from Egypt. Attempts were made to convert it into a pirate vessel before the Chosen obtained it for themselves. It is currently crewed by a mix of civilians and former Directory officers, allowing the Chosen to maintain some limited naval presence in Southern Europe and North Africa.
