Description: In order for the Lord of Ruin to enter a world and feast on it, great amoutns of negative energy must be present and to flow towards the Fabula Forest, the gateway from which He exerts his influence and from which He will enter when the situation allows it. To prepare the world for his arrival, the Lord of Ruin sends His agents, the Ruina forth.
the Ruina don’t have much of a command structure. All of them have a drive and desire for destruction and misery. The vast majority of Ruina are Miles, easily replacable fodder that are led by the Lord of Ruin’s vanguard: The Melior Esse. Melior Esse are the generals who lead the Ruina in their quest to bring their Lord unto the world, and are all highly dangerous combatants that pilot unique Mobile Weapons. Their bodies are not made out of negative energy, but instead the bodies of the former humans that worked in Directory Arctic Research Center. Those people are gone, their souls eroded into nothingness in an instant by His will, but their memories and bodies remain as puppets for the Ruina generals.
The event that turned everyone in then Directory Arctic Research Center into tools of the Lord of Ruin seems to have happened near the end of OE 101. At this time it is unknown what caused the disturbance that allowed Lord of Ruin’s influence to slip into the world for the briefest of amounts it took to wipe out the souls of Directory Arctic Research Center out.
The Lord of Ruin does not seem to have entered L’Isola yet, but as the Ruina succeed and progress in their goals that fateful moment crawls ever closer...
Mass Produced Units:
Angelus:
The most commonly seen Mobile Weapon the Ruina have, the Angelus is a highly mobile but fragile wasplike machine. Its lower half sucks negative energy out of the atmosphere to power its weapons, which include missile pods, a beam sword and a beam rifle.
A more powerful and more humanlike variant has been seen a few times, but while the normal Angelus is often seen in squads and large groups, there have only ever been single sightings of the Angelus S.
Belgrande:
The Belgrande are a mass produced Super unit that the Ruina have begun to deploy in the months after their assault on the world began in earnest. They have missiles on their shoulders, the massive spiked hammer all of them wield and their knuckles can be sent at their foes. While they can fly, their performance is greater on the ground.
