It was a shit show in the cockpit of the Raubtier as the immediate vicinity was wracked with point blank explosions from Angelus that had decided to directly steal Vulyn’s plan as they collided mid air. Explosions rocked Vulyn around violently in her seat as panels sparked and alarms she couldn’t even remember repairing started to blare all kinds of warning. From the outside, the Mobile Weapon was severely smashed and dented, although the Swiss cheese variant of the Angelus sure looked worse.

“Damnit!” Vulyn screamed out as the smoke in front of the camera cleared to reveal far too many missiles coming towards her, large purple trails following them. The Raubtier quickly, if jerkily transformed back into its humanoid form as it grappled with the corpse of the Wasp, maneuvering it around as she tried to use it as a shield. Timing could have been better however, as the Angelus S blasted a hole through the right leg of the Wildraubtier. The Mobile Weapon was sent into a spiral, Vulyn desperately trying to control it as they flew wildly into the missiles.

The absolute chaos could be considered amusing to any onlookers, as the WildRaubtier and the Angelus spun into the barrage of missiles like a Roman candle , spinning far too fast for its pilots sake. Broadcasted over public channels came the terrified screams of it’s pilot as they seemed to smack missiles out of their way while others tore chunks out of the Angelus. The wreck fell apart after it was eventually dropped after passing through wave of terror, some missile seeming to correct their path as the Raubtier still sailed forward through the air, manually adjusting as they went for the Miles Captain.

It looked pretty bad. The Raubtier was smoking, only one functional leg. As much as she loved her Raubtier, Vulyn didn’t have the maneuverability to take it on head to head. However, she did have enough explosives on board to level an outpost... The brunette pilot armed everything she had on board at once, AG missiles, AA missiles, her payload of bombs, armor breakers and Spider nets. “Eris, Zan-El, if things don’t work out, just... Be good okay?”

With that, Vulyn turned off her comms and spun the Wildraubtier to face the Angelus S, firing all thrusters as she unsheathed their Cold Steel Knife and rushed them, not willing to give any time before setting a five second delay on the bombs, digging the knife into one of their wings and quickly ejecting. It was all a rush. Hell. She couldn’t tell if the knife had even landed as he was shot out of the machine at high speed, the white armored Mobile Weapon seeming to glow as everything inside was ready to fucking take everything with it.

Fuck You Bumblebee

As fire spewed forth from him and the screeches of Zan-El filled the air, the taste of both satisfaction and victory were both on Crystal Dragoon's lips. The lord of ruin's puppets had brought additional weaponry it seemed, a welcome surprise and valuable intel on their standards of weapon construction. All was going exactly according to plan, as the fire ceased and the draconic monstrosity beheld XN-L's charred form he thought of all of 'his kind' as she put it lost to them.

And here she was, one knee eating the dirt below. Moments prior to being reduced to more dust particles by missiles. Amidst the negative energy that was previously harvested, the smell of fire and screams of this realm's children the ancient foe could almost smell a whiff of existential dread from the 'angel' and with it, she dove forwards.

The draconic face smiled as she approached, with that damage she would not best him in close combat she had just signed her own death warrant. Two simple swords were flung at him, crystal dragoon raised its arm it could take the damage easily and allow him to catch her with a downwards punch.

So he raised his arm to meet the blades, and it happened as he expected though something was off, one of the blades went in too easily, not that Crystal Dragoon noticed. As XN-L passed under him he swung and a distinctive sound of cracking was heard.

The only one who could've seen what had happened could've been Zan-El, a hairline fracture on her foe's arm had been where her blade was caught on and with the force of her throw and now the swing by Crystal Dragoon himself, it grew exponentially. To prevent his arm from shattering then and there the draconic entity was forced to stop mid swing.

At which point the missiles impacted his back and most importantly for him, his wings. The payload redefining the landscape of his back and causing notable holes to be forced into his wingspan, which would not only reduce his air speed but also maneuverability should the Dragoon opt to take to the skies.

He wondered why the Ruina were using such primitive guidance systems on their missiles, he wondered why his arm nearly shattered. If there were teeth to grind they would be right now, but for now the dragon's eyes shot back to Zan-El their previous almost glee-like expression turned to frustration as things were derailing from his plan.

Meanwhile the Damon tried to turn its head to locate the Medius especially now that it had tasted blood or rather oil its instincts seemed to be kicking in, the missiles striking all over its form as it searched. And excellent cover did it provide, the Ruina's payload overpowering the D-Fault at a few locations causing what could best be described as craters on its form. The beast took a moment to steady itself from the blast before pulling its right arm up, its eyes now glaring at the medius.

For all intents and purposes, it would begin swatting at the Medius like one would a fly. Whatever care it had about preserving the integrity of the machine vanishing. Though Eris would still find the attacks delayed.

The Angelus S flew away from the Raubtier, easily staying ahead of the badly damaged Mobile Weapon without issues. Whether the Miles was suspicious of Vulyn's mad charge or content to let the damage Raubtier had sustained to tear it apart during the assault, it did not even try to fight back, merely staying a good distance away.

Which left it in a good position to try to run away when Vulyn abandoned ship and the wreck started to glow. Immediately the captain started to fly in a straight line as fast as possible, the Angelus S showcasing its impressive speed.
So when the truly impressive explosion of ordnance and shrapnel came the last remaining Ruina was out of the immediate death zone, though far from safe. At the last second the Angelus turned around, letting the shield-like wings that covered its arms to protect it from the shrapnel and explosion both.

The Angelus survived, but the previously untouched machine now had significant wear and tear. Small bits of metal had embedded themselves into both the Angelus' wings and legs and much of the surface was charred from the explosion.

Looking at the battlefield, and seeing that everyone was busy, the Miles went for the most logical approach.

With notably slower speed it left after the Tausendfuessler to gather negative energy somewhere more peaceful, leaving the Crystal Dragoon and its Dino to deal with the remaining hostiles.

Huvud stared at the screen. He had witnessed the Tausendfuessler's attack and was unsatisfied. It was too slow and, apparently, unreliable. Once again he operated the radio. "Skruv, find a way to either upgrade the Tausendfuessler's homing system or lessen the time it needs to shoot them. If neither is possible, scrap one of them."

They had lost two Angeli and the last one was badly damaged, used most of their rockets and had little to show for it. With a click the screen darkened with Huvud closing the link.

The operation had been a failure. They had lost much and had nothing to show for it. Nothing but information. But that information was valuable. The Ruina were being hunted, and now they knew their foe. Huvud was already working on plans to eliminate the new threat.

"Next time." He murmured to himself. Next time Zan-el and her sidekicks would find more unpleasant surprises waiting for them.

Weakness.

XN-L screeched to a halt, tearing a furrow along the ground with one arm as she examined the newly-growing crack in her foe. His new body was strong, but clearly there were new weaknesses as well.

"I may not be able to take your life this day..."

Her halos transformed into a cross once more, each point unleashing a green lightning bolt upon Crystal dragoon. All four bolts would converge on the same point, striking at the largest crack in his arm with the intention of shattering it.

"So I'll take your arm!"

After the lightning had struck she took flight once more, launching herself directly upwards to gain distance between herself and the greatest threat. Vision of the battlefield was required - how were her disciples doing? Had they followed her commands and fled, or did they require aid?

It would have been almost comical, seeing the DAMON swat at the form of the Medius. Eris jinked the machine about madly, giving it the appearance of a rogue fly, or perhaps a mosquito, deftly ducking in and out of the whirling blades of death, the mercenary scarcely daring to breathe. At last, as the monster's arm parted... there was an opening. Her fingers closed on the controls - it was now or never.

The Medius suddenly bolted forward, bringing the Divided Rifle up like a spear held parallel to the ground, catapulting itself at an exposed segment of armor on the leviathan's neck. With a roar, the weapon was stabbed forward, smashing through biomechanical metal deep into the flesh beneath, sending an explosion of vile fluid in all directions.

"FAP, activate!"

Executing: Sting Acceleration
The twin ends of the weapon snapped open, wrenching open a hole in the beast's flesh with sheer torque as energy built in its crackling barrel, the dark Personal Trooper's verniers fluttering as it gripped the bayonet with both hands.

"Choke on THIS!"

Depressing the trigger, a beam of ochre light smashed out of the Rifle - and in all likelihood, out of the neck of the Dino DAMON, aimed to decapitate it viciously in a cascade of burning plasma - yet it was a hail-Mary, for who knew if the otherworldly monster's anatomy would allow it to survive as such?

...At least he was leaving now.

The rush of wind past her helmet was deafening, freefall jerking her seat around as Vulyn pulled at her parachute. The sudden explosion of resistance ripped her out of the seat, leaving her falling slowly to the forest floor as her comrades continued to fight. It was a spectacle to watch as Zanel launched back up into the air, Eris trying to execute the Damon... It was entertaining to watch at least, waiting to crash into the foliage below, getting closer and closer before-

*CRAKCA!*

She smashed right into the trees, imediately getting beaten up by branches on her way down, dangling from a tree by her parachute. "I guess this is my life now." Vulyn sighed as she pulled at the ropes strapping her to the chute and sighing, stuck. “Hey, can anyone hear me?” She spoke into her mouthpiece, testing it curiously to see if she was still connected. The lack of any static or general buzz in her ear killed any hope of that.

“I can hear you loud and clear.”

The dangling Vulyn cursed as someone spoke behind her, impotently spinning around to face them, face to face with some... pink woman, judging her as they stood on a large branch. The figure slowly reached into her suit jacket, producing and intimidating three pronged syringe of some kind.

“Zan-El?! Eris!? Can you guys hear me!? I’ve got some lady with a bunch of needles here!”

A titanic roar echoed throughout the area as crystal gave way to the force applied to it, and in between the draconic screeches of pain. A sound akin to the shattering of glass, or crystal rather, as thousands upon thousands of sickly purple shards were flung in every direction imaginable by man.

"YOU NIHILISTIC BASTARD!" Crystal Dragoon screamed, in a fashion not dissimilar from Dragons in mythology whose patience had gone beyond their limit, "You won't get away!"

As the Dragoon suffered from his now shattered arm its DAMON companion was about to try and crush the Medius once more, that was until the Sting Acceleration kicked in melting a hole in what must've been the beast's windpipe, its claws slowly but surely creeping closer to the Medius and when they were only inches away from the machine the Damon's neck collapsed backwards.
The half cut open neck could no longer support the weight on it, breaking the beast's neck and seemingly killing it in a gruesome manner as it went limp and started to implode.

Crystal Dragoon, for his part, didn't even seem to acknowledge the lost DAMON, its focus solely on Zan-El as it sent a spew of fire her way, his eyes looked sideways for a moment, catching a glimpse of the useless, no. Worse than useless 'allies' trying to slink off to the side.
In his mind, they were the reason he had lost this fight, had it not been for their stupid missiles he could have finished of Zan-El. Detrimental bastards.
So after a few moments of trying to assail Zan-El with flames he shifted his target to the puppets of the lord of ruin. They would make adequate vents for his anger.

Crystal Dragoon's fireball chased after the retreating Tausendfuessler, but the dragon's wrath wouldn't be sated this time. The bulky plane dipped downwards to its right side. The fireball passed by the Tausendfuessler from below its left wing, the damage limited to blackening the surface.

The plane slowed momentarily after the dodge, giving time for the damaged Angelus S to reach it and land inside it. As the plane sped once again, disappearing to the dark of the night the voice of the Miles Captain rung in the air, an inhuman combination of flesh and metal.

"Do not blame us for your lack of evasive maneuvers. You allowed our mutual enemy to use you as a shield."

"Cry! Scream! Embrace this feeling, for when your end comes you will feel it returned a thousandfold!"

XN-L took the chance to rub it in as she flew upwards, watching the brutal decapitation of the DAMON with a hint of concealed pride. Unfortunately her other Disciple seemed to be faring... less well. Nothing could be seen of Vulyn, but she'd caught a glimpse of the girl ejecting before her machine self-destructed. That one was useful - if a little reckless. She resolved to come back once the immediate conflict had ended to search for the girl. Or the body if need be.

At the very least, she deserved a proper burial.

"Eris - withdraw. There's nothing more we can do for now."

The words were projected over her radio as the angel switched directions, leaving the combat zone for the time being. They weren't done here - not by a long shot - but there was no reason to continue the battle immediately. For it was time to prepare for the war.

"Don't have to tell me twice." Growled Eris as the Dino DAMON began its seismic implosion.

By some miracle, she'd managed to survive - but she had no ability to face down the Dragon-like entity. Not like this, at least - XN-L would have to handle it. In the meantime, she cast about for her companion, the Medius ducking low into the treeline as its thrusters fluttered. She could regenerate, that much at least was certain - but propellant was finite, a fact that was starting to make itself all too clear to her through the whining of klaxons in her cockpit.

The Medius landed next to the tree Vulyn was located in, extending a hand. The Raubtier was shot, little more than scrap material barely good for salvage - but the pilot... She breathed a sigh of relief knowing the woman was alive, at least. Gently, she extracted her from her place amidst the branches, closing it gently about her and the newcomer... there would be time for introductions later.

"Vulyn, let's get the Hell out of here." She said, holding the two close to the machine's chest. Eris gave one last look back at the two battling entities - this job had gotten far too out of hand for her tastes.

"Screw this." She grumbled, the dark PT turning and bolting into the distance as fast as its thrusters could allow.

The woman spun Vulyn around, who was try desperately to fight back. With a sharp yank, she tore the back off of the Mechanic's flight suit, dragging the needles along her skin. "W-What do you want? Money? Blood? I'll donate fucking blood, just- Just stop whatever you're doing!" Vulyn brought her leg up behind her, trying to kick at the woman with... less than optimal results.

"In all honesty, I really would have prefered to take some blood, run some actual tests..." The three needles sank into Vulyn's spine as this stranger pushed forward, leaning in closer to her victim. "But it seems like your allies are coming to pick you up... I need my master back by the time you wake up." The feeling of this cold, sickening liquid seeping into her body sent the suspended girl into spasms, as something inside of her fought with the substance...

Eris was finally here, but too late and seemingly unsuspecting... The pink woman leaned into Vulyn once more as they were grabbed up, the mechanic's form going rigid as a metal glaze covered her eyes.

"Welcome back, Black Knight Luciferd."
