Biography: The early life like Dan Takao Early isn't particularly notable at first glace, being raised in the western half of North America to lower-middle class parents of mixed Japanese and American ancestry. His mother passed away when he was seven years of age in a motor vehicle incident, and his father died when he was sixteen to a fire. At eighteen, young Mr. Early enrolled in the military as a pilot cadet, and was quickly singled out as possessing an extreme amount of natural talent as well as a combative nature. He rose fairly rapidly through the ranks, specifically in the elite Terra Sentinels, though his career stalled when he reached the rank of Captain due to a number of demerits he had earned due to over-aggressive actions in the field during suppression of dissidents in the colonies.

Not much else of note in available in his records until the Omsk Tragedy, where he was originally listed among the dead. Later on, however, in the winter of OE 100, him and his customized Guarlion reappeared, engaging in combat with authorities in the defense of a group of weapon smugglers, and later in OE 101, in the employ of a radical separatist group based in South Africa. Further investigation has lead to the conclusion that the man is operating as a gun-for-hire, rather than as an agent for the quietly reactivated Terra Sentinels. His new outlaw bent lead to a second look at his background, especially considering the number of civilian casualties he caused in each engagement. Overlooked evidence was found, pointing out a possible degree of sociopathy, including cut brakes in his mother vehicle, and signs of arson in regards to his father's death.

Though Dan Early has yet to be seen since the destruction of the separatist group he was last seen employed by, he is known to have escaped alive, and is considered to be extremely dangerous.

During combat earlier this year, his Guarlion was shot down near Johannesburg in combat with Directory forces. When recovered, however, the cockpit was found to be intact, open, and empty with no sign of blood or injury inside, leading authorities to believe that the mercenary escaped alive. There was, however, no sign of tracks or footprints in the area, leaving the question of how, exactly, Mr. Early left the area.

History: The mobile weapon referred to by the Directory as "Pickaxe" is a large-sized unit of unknown origin. It's been sighted in several conflict zones in the last several months, assisting a variety of hostile forces against the Directory. After-combat review of interecepted communications have shown that no other forces engaged in said conflict areas appear to be aware of the Pickaxe's origin or operator either. It has, thus far, avoided engaging in combat with any elite units or Directory-controlled large scale units, favoring a hit-and-run approach, using it's overwhelming firepower and armor to crush opposition before fleeing the combat zone.
