Just writing down some ideas I had bouncing around.

Key series MS: IBO, AGE, SEED

General concept is: a new story focused on new frontiers, fresh ideas, with the latest series incorporated into it. Starts out small and focused on skirmishes, kind of like Necromunda; with the possibility of expanding the story as time goes on.

Story notes:

- Set in the far future, in the moons of Jupiter two centuries after an apocalyptic AI war devastates humanity and separates the planets.

- The war started because of a network of AI controlled MAD autonomous armies was tripped, and after the fact, nobody could stop them until they finally burned out.

-Nobody has been seen from Earth since the end of the war; status of the planet is unknown.

-Crews dig across the planets in search of parts and old war machines to disassemble and salvage. Old AI machines still lurk inactive however, and these trips are fraught with peril.

- Think like Mad Max meets monster hunter and Galient.

- PLANTS, not Colonies, stylistic choice.

- Genetically engineered populace to survive harsh environments

System:

Players have crews of people they can assign roles to each week; and the results are posted the following week.

Choose a planet (Ganymede, Europa, Io), results and difficulty differ depending on location.

Members can be assigned to Research, Mine, Guard, Raid, or Train.

Total of 12 cycles, story changes based on user inputs, goes for a total of 3 months. Maybe that’s too long though?

Defining Core Values:

- Leverage new technology to create a smoother, more seamless RPG experience.
- Experimental in nature, move outside of comfort zone a bit.
- Do it better, do it faster, make it simpler and easier without sacrificing depth, quality, or agility.

Moon is converted into massive containment zone for sleeping mobile armors, satellite cannon arrays placed in orbit to prevent escape. Some research settlements on the surface to study.

As a result; Moon is a no-go zone for the vast majority of the populace, and strictly off limits.

Machine War.

Mobile Dolls and MAs intended for deterrence turn as one against their masters in a war of extermination. Mankind eventually triumphs through the creation and intervention of the “Gundam”, in all its various guises, which banishes the mechanical armies back to the Moon.

Earth is still picking up the pieces, collecting itself 10 years later.

Vulture should be a keyword.

Vulture: Term for individuals operating outside the law with a mobile suit, typically not associated with any larger power. Vulture organizations range from a handful of individuals with a flatbed, to roving fleets of submarines and land ships.

MS Hunter: Pilots appointed by local governments to hunt down and destroy both rogue mobile weapons, and Vultures. They were introduced as a more easily controlled alternative to Vultures, and they are often better equipped, trained, and organized than their counterparts.

WakeNet:
A communications hub and network for Vultures that provides news, updates, and a way for Vultures to recognize one another. It is not affiliated with any major power, and its decentralized nature makes it difficult to track. WakeNet also records and ranks a Vulture's performance on a scale of F to S, so prospective employers can see their recorded history. Bounties and the like are posted to its service, as well as any potential rumors or leads to high-paying jobs.

Unus Mundus:
A worldwide association of government agencies, working together to rebuild society. Functions much in the same way as WakeNet for MS Hunters, but it is more localized to specific areas, and has more transparency that allows for the public to understand its going-ons, with managers and officials being readily identified.

Both Wakenet and Unus provide identification numbers and documentation to their clients. In the context of Ignition, this is issued upon signup completion as a 7-digit number.

Backstory:

I: The Minovsky Particle, Mobile Suits, Colonization... and Endless War:

In the late 22nd century as mankind was making its first awkward, fumbling moves into the depths of space, the revolutionary Minovsky Particle was discovered, and not long after, the bipedal war weapons known as Mobile Suits. With the advent of this new force - one capable of nullifying all previous forms of warfare - the resource-starved nations of the age waged a newer, more horrific form of combat against one another than ever before, until the flames of war spiraled out of control, even as mankind began expanding to the ends of the Solar System.

The battles dragged on endlessly - some say for over one hundred years - but eventually subsided with the introduction of a newer, more terrible kind of weapon - one the likes of which had never been seen before:

The Machines.

II: The Tranquil Times

The wars finally ground to a halt with the introduction of Artificial Intelligence equipped Mobile Weapons. Massive in scale, and armed to the teeth with the most threatening weapons of the age, they were designed to react to acts as deterrents - responding to foreign aggression with the threat of total obliteration. It wasn't long before more of these came into being, each nation crafting its own, to stand in stoic silence at their borders, watching one another.

Thus, an uneasy peace settled in... One that would last for a hundred years, as mankind rebuilt. The stars were tamed and terraformed, from Mars all the way to the edges of the Solar System, and there was talk even of populating distant systems, such as Alpha Centauri.

Mobile Suits were at first maintained as a necessity...

Then, mothballed...

And, at last...

Forgotten.

Only the Mobile Armors remained, their hawkish and beastial forms looming over the enforced serenity that hung over the world of man, now left cowering and subservient before the idol he had created.

A peace born of overwhelming fear.

III: Insurrection:

Nobody knows how, why, or when the Machines learned to speak with one another.

Some say that it was conspiracy, that a group of secretive individuals sought to control them for their own gain.

Others believe that we had created something that was too intelligent, that we couldn't contain, and that would eventually understand itself to be superior to those that created it.

Still more, that the machines were faulty, defective devices from the very start, and that what followed was inevitable.

But, none dispute what happened on that fateful day.

The AI networks of the nations, designed initially to guard against one another, turned as one - without provocation - and unleashed their fury upon their creators. All across the Earth Sphere, automated mobile weapons came to life, and slaughtered their handlers before turning their guns on the closest population centers they could find.

Over one third of the human population was killed in under forty eight hours, as a disarmed peoples could do nothing but flee as their guardians became their nightmares.

What followed was not a war between men, but one of man and machine - a fight not for dominance, but for survival.

--- continue here

How long does the war drag on for? 50 years.
During this time, mankind throws everything it has at the machines, which quickly evolve to counter any new technology. Tons of new weapons and enhancements are introduced in the fastest arms race in history.
It ends when the machines are driven down to the surface of the Moon, and effectively contained.

IV: Gundam, and The Eye of Jupiter

It was from the Jovian Sphere, on the frontiers of humanity, that an unexpected hope emerged. Long a hub of interstellar commerce and manufacturing, the magma-forges of Io had been quietly amassing a collection of Mobile Suits, either melting them down for their rare alloys, or studying their inner workings to reverse engineer long-forgotten technology.

With the sudden revolt of the machines, these antiquated weapons suddenly found new purpose... And Mobile Suits took to the battlefield once more.

Yet, despite giving mankind a fighting chance, victory could not be one with these refurbished relics- the so called Oldsmobiles - alone. A new champion was needed - a symbol to inspire the masses to stand their ground and fight.

A certain technology had been developed in the Jovian Sphere, one that couldn't be replicated anywhere else, and which had been considered instrumental to the expansion of mankind to the stars - one that was capable of turning the tide against the machines:

The GN Drive.

A perpetual engine of limitless potential, the handful of Drives that had been created were placed not in exploratory vessels, but in the hearts of the mobile suits that would be their saviors, christened after the legendary weapons of old:

They were called "Gundam".

The day of the first O Gundam's deployment signaled the beginning of mankind's counterattack.

Countless innovations were unearthed and repurposed - or built anew - for the battle at hand: Alayna Vijanana, Psycoframe, EXAM, Mobile Trace, the ZERO System... Even the machine's own weapons were turned against them, in the form of the 72 demonic Gundam Frames, avatars of wrath that were more than a match for even the most malevolent cybernetic centurion. For every evolution the machines brought forth, so too did mankind move another step forward, in the fastest arms race ever recorded in history.

Bit by bit, inch by bloody inch, the humans of the Jovian sphere drove back the malevolent engines of destruction, and forced them into the Eye of Jupiter - a howling, electromagnetic prison that would hold them forevermore. After twenty five years of struggle... Hard won peace had finally returned to at least this one corner of the galaxy.

V: Rise of the Vultures:

In the aftermath of the conflict, a new problem emerged. The spread of Mobile Suits, and the collapse of government led to the rise of armed, independent warlords who ruled over their own individual fiefdoms. To make matters worse, challenges emerged with trying to re-integrate those who were surgically enhanced to do battle with the Machines back into society. Many ultimately reverted back to their old ways, traveling into the wastelands to battle what foes remained, becoming scavengers who lived on the fringes of society. Some became known and revered as freedom fighters who fought for the weak and oppressed... Others, as fiendish terrors that lived only for battle and bloodshed, traveling in search of coin and glory.

The first "Vultures".

As time passed, Vultures became more and more prolific, as salvage work was not only easy, but profitable work. Provincial governments began to form, and it was then that the "Vulture Problem" began to be examined in more depth. Registration systems were instituted, and in JC 0020, government-funded bounty hunters, known as "MS Hunters" came into being. Armed with the best equipment money could buy, and with the backing of their governing bodies, the Hunters meted out justice to those Vultures unfortunate enough to cross their path - and a rivalry was born between those who fought for freedom, and those who stood for security.

The year is Jovian Calender 0025.

As the populace of the Jovian Sphere begins to emerge from the chrysalis of crisis, a struggle for the heart of the future, and for what form it will take, has begun...

Setting Information:

The story of Mobile Suit Gundam: Exuvia takes place on the moons of Jupiter.

GANYMEDE
Nexus of Humanity

Cultural center of Jupiter's population, and what had long been anticipated as the center of the galactic expansion, Ganymede stands head and shoulders above all other planets as the most successful terraforming project in human history.

EUROPA
Boundless Horizons of the Unending Sea

IO
The Eternal Foundry

The longest running and most difficult terraforming project of all, the churning, burning, volcanic landscape of Io would seem inhospitable to most - but, nestled amongst the smoldering peaks are not only thermal energy plants, but the finest factories ever created by the hands of man. These are carved deep into the stomachs of the magma-vents, the intense heat and energy used for smithing not only rare alloys such as Gundanium and Half-Metal, but for conducting the delicate procedures necessary for the manufacture of GN Drives.

To live and work on Io is to be a craftsman beyond compare, and prior to the Machine War, the great forges of Io were regarded as the single most important asset to mankind's expansion, as it was here, in the great orbiting shipyards, that the spacecraft were made. Artificial cities demonstrate a remarkable resilience - if a somewhat utilitarian taste in architecture and design, with most decoration being simple and efficient in manner, the pleasantries of art being regarded as something of a waste.

The various cities on Io are connected via vast underground tunnels and railways. During the war, considerable amounts of these were either destroyed, or sealed off to prevent entry by the machines - and rumors persist of both lost factories with intact Mobile Suits, ripe for the taking... and of dark, craven machines that traverse the dark tunnels, looking to ensnare the greedy and unwary that enter their domains.

CALLISTO
The Devil Moon

The last of the Jovian moons to be terraformed by the Ultimate Gundam, Callisto was formerly an unremarkable, urban planetoid of moderate, inoffensive temperament that mostly served as a port of call for interplanetary transports, and the Jupiter Energy Fleet.

All of that changed, however, when the Machine War unwittingly unleashed a third, horrific player into the battle between flesh and metal: The Devil Gundam. Over the course of the war, over 60% of Callisto was assimilated by the Devil Gundam's composite nanomachines, DG Cells, and repurposed into an alien, nightmarish landscape teeming with its own dangerous mutant abominations.

Thanks to the efforts of the Shuffle Alliance, however, the Devil was defeated, and it now lays in a comatose state, effectively silenced. Its gargantuan carcass towers over all else on the planet, a reminder of the devastation that was narrowly avoided.

Four cities escaped the devastation, each of which is ruled over by a general of the Shuffle Alliance
