The Longinus Family had well, a long history in mercantile business throughout earth’s history. The interplanetary Zaibatsu had a sphere of influence that reached even to mars and beyond. There wasn’t a single corporation or nation that didn’t know the Longinus Family. While powerful, the family was also generous… to some extent. Many smaller corporations, upstart businesses and small businesses were supported by the family, being major stakeholders in thousands of businesses. Many businesses were able to succeed due to the Longinus family, though they weren’t a charity by any means. There is always a price attached to generosity, and this price was usually marked in favors.

Actaeon Industries was one of these businesses. Under the leadership of Farron’s father, the Longinus Family became a major investor in helping the man known as “R” hit the ground running, which allowed him to build up his own corporation to an impressive size within only 5 years. Though some kudos was due to R for being able to manage it so damn well. Partnering with the Longinus family was equivalent to getting a golden ticket to success, but should one betray their trust, you can be sure that it would mean economic suicide.

After the fiasco at the asteroid base, Farron parted ways with Eris and Ayatane, to return to his objective of finding the stolen package. He was calling in favors from all of Longinus’ connections, many of which were eager to cooperate with the new head of the family. Today, he was visiting one of the newer upstart companies that began under his father’s leadership, Farron hoped that he may know something about the package.

Actaeon Industries Main HQ
Somewhere in the UK
1400 Hours

It was a pain in the ass to get past the Directory blockade around the english islands, some militarization keeping the area under strict lockdown. Though even the directory was under influence of the Longinus Family in some way; some of the directors on the board of the Directory owed their success to the Longinus Family, either way, Farron made it through, as was now in England for the first time in his life. Or rather, first time being on earth in his life. It was an exciting experience, though he hardly had time for messing around, he had an appointment with R soon.

Farron, along with Z1 entered the facility, met with R’s secretary and were now on their way to his office. The path they walked along seemed fairly normal, Farron had a vague idea of what Actaeon industries produced, but he hardly knew the specifics. As the two entered the office, Farron approached R from across his desk and held out his hand to be shook.

“R, its a pleasure to meet you. I’ve heard good things about you.” Farron gave a polite smile and a firm handshake.

"The pleasure's all mine.." R said standing up and returning the handshake with a smile.

"Welcome Actaeon Industries" R said releasing Farron's hand."Where we create the weapons to protect the peace of both Earth and Space" R announced spreading his arms like wings while wearing a confident smile.

"...At least that's what the Slogan says" R muttered dropping his arms. "Take a seat" he said before sitting back down on his chair.

R then turned to his secretary. "You can go away now" he said signaling her to leave to which she bowed and left the president's office.

Leaning back on his chair R turned his attention back to Farron. "Let's get straight to the point shall we?" he said with a grin

Farron was a good judge of character for the most part. R's statement gave Farron a good idea of the man, and he gave a smirk in regard. Farron took a seat and relaxed a bit into the chair, with Z1 standing at his side, with a blank motionless face.

“Don't mind her, she's my personal assistant.” Farron gestured to Z1. In response, Z1 bowed politely.

“Greeting: I am Model Number Z1, personal servant to the Longinus Family.” Her speech patterns were still factory default, but there was a certain charm to it, or so Farron thought.

“Right, I came here today to ask a favor of you.” Though not sounding different, the word ‘favor’ carried an unnatural weight to it. “A couple of months ago, an important package was stolen from us in the middle of a trade deal. Some third-party managed to assault the location and stole the manifesto and contents. We were dealing with some covert agents on Mars working for Terra Sentinel, and the operation was kept under wraps. We caught a trail that directed us back to the earth sphere, but have come to an impasse.” Farron was slightly reluctant to disclose this much information, but upstarts like R, they're usually more motivated to help out, wanting to pay back debt they may have owed to their benefactor.

“You seem like a resourceful man, and more in the loop on the happenings in the earth sphere. Surely you've heard of stolen packages, lost property, or what-have-you floating around. The black markets, maybe?” Farron was throwing his dice in on R, and hoped he'd be able to deliver.

"I need to get one of those for myself" R commented looking at Z1. He then turned his attention to Farron who disclosed the reason as to why he was here.

R smiled at the request. He found it amusing that The Longinus Family of all people messed up during a deal. He did obtain information about it before but he disclosed it as a faulty rumor. Which almost made him let out a chuckle.

"Done... But you're going to have to be more specific about the package." R replied to Farron.

"A lot of packages come in and out of the earth sphere. You don't have to tell me what the package is for... And from the look on your face I can tell you don't want to. On the other hand.. You could at least tell me what it looks like. It'll make finding it a lot easier" R said wearing a confident grin.

"So what do say amigo? Sound fair to you?" R asked

Farron gave a false smile to R’s remark at Z1, but relaxed a bit back into his chair.

“In all honesty, I don’t know what the package was, to its full extent.” Farron shifted his arms to interlock his fingers in front of his face. “What I’m about to say does not leave this room, do you understand? I’m sure you do.” Farron’s face grew grim.

“It was information. A datafile, a hard-drive, papers, something. I don’t know what the contents were; that was unnecessary information. Anyways, Terra Sentinel had done some digging around on one of Phobos, where they found the information. They wanted a more ‘secure’ detail to deliver the information back on earth, so we were hired for the job.” Farron moved closer to R.

“But here’s the cincher, the whole operation was kept under wraps. No one knew about it except the immediate members of the Longinus Family and Terra Sentinel. The thing was supposed to be completely incognito, though we were ambushed at the exchange.” Farron shifted back into his chair.

“I just arrived in the earth sphere only a few weeks ago, so I’m not fully up to date on the political climate and what-have-you of Earth, but from what I’ve gathered I thought the main suspect to be the Directory… though that’s purely speculation.”

“So what about you? I’ve told you what I know, now it’s your turn.”

"Sounds like someone on the inside stabbed ya'll in the back" R said sarcastically

"The Directory huh...Well that could be true... Or it could be Terra Sentinel pulling a fast one on you" R said looking downwards crossing his arms

R then turned towards Farron "If the info had anything to do with that one thing then by all means blame the Directory... Poor bastards have been trying to wake up their sleeping beauty for a while now..." he said smiling.

"Although... They've been pretty active lately...But If they got their hands on anything new I'd probably hear about it... And so far the only things that I heard about is that they got their hands on a bunch of new pilots and mobile weapons. One which is a death machine and another that could fry the pilot's brain after activating a system... On the other hand... There's..." R trailed off as a thought crossed his mind

“Terra Sentinel? What would they gain from killing their own hired courier?” This idea made Farron question more things than should’ve been necessary.

“Statement: The possibility isn’t zero.” Z1 spoke up from behind Farron.

“That doesn’t make sense though.”

“Exposition: Terra Sentinel is run by a shadow government that never makes itself known. Assuming no leaks were made, the government itself could’ve easily staged an attack during the exchange.”

“But what information could possibly be so important they’d stage their own robbery?”

“That is… uncertain.” Z1 took a step back and lowered her head.

“Well, I’ll entertain the possibility. So Terra Sentinel stole their own package, meaning it was delivered to the client. Is there any benefit in us still chasing after it?”

“Statement: You risk ruining the reputation of the Longinus Family, letting someone get away from stealing from us.” Z1’s face shifted to something more serious. “Argument: It should be known that no one should steal from the Longinus Family, be they an individual or a government, there will be consequences.”

“So we single-handedly wage war on Terra Sentinel?” By this point, R was an associate in this situation, and Farron valued any opinion he could take at this time. He looked to R to see what he would say.

R held in a laugh when Farron asked why someone would kill and steal from a hired courier.

Laying back on his chair R composed himself. "You wanna know why? It saves money, plus that way they can make sure no one took a peek into their packages. And in Terra Sentinel's case I wouldn't be surprised. And Considering their numbers right now, they wouldn't need to hire outside help for the ambush either. What's better is that they get the item, they keep their money, their secrets are secure AND they get to blame the courier for fukin up" R explained as he placed his feet on top of his desk.

"Sorry to break it to you Farron but...If that's really what happened.. you all got played like fiddles"

And when Farron suggested waging a war against Terra Sentinel R shrugged. "You could... An all out gang war's good get the blood flowing..." he said looking away from Farron and started to type something in his tablet.

"But I have a better idea..." R turned back to Farron with a smirk and slid his tablet across his desk towards Farron. The tablet displayed a small ship in a hangar with 3 people in black coats.

"That getup look familiar to you?"

“Sounds like a bunch of lunatics. Killing their own people and courier just to save on some cash…” Farron didn’t like the grim situation this posed. Regardless, he needed a way to get back at Terra Sentinel. This was his first duty as the head of the Longinus Corporation, and he wanted not to disappoint.

Farron looked at the tablet with a raised eyebrow.

“...Let’s say I do know what this is.” Farron felt like he was getting a crash course in Earth’s ongoings, but this was something beyond 101. “But go ahead, share your idea.”

"These fellows landed here pretty recently. And I just happened to know where their base is" R said looking straight at Farron with a warm smile

"I'm willing to share the info with you...Hell, I'll even lend you a hand! But..." R stopped his smile changing into a sinister one. "It ain't free..." he said laying his head on his hand.

At the end of the day there was something more important to R than Farron's little delivery mishap... He would've just given him the information and be done with it. But Farron had something R needed to reach his goal...His goal to destroy the Luna Kingdom.
