Biography:

The Elaima were one of the many differences on the 'other side' that did not seem to have made it over. An insular people who had mostly avoided participating in the eternal cycle, investing what little military might they had into protecting their people over participating in the wars that rocked the rest of the planet. Very few of their number ventured into the outside world, with most of those that did being refugees, infiltrators or prisoners of war. Liana was... something between the first part and the third. Being practically shoved into national security as a result of her abilities lead to a disastrous first deployment, ending with her being captured by a probing force in a deliberate attempt to provoke the nation into retaliation.

Said operation was a miserable failure, with Maake refusing to do anything beyond toughen their security - apparently having written those taken hostage off as a lost cause. Instead of their original plan, the agents behind the operation decided to switch tack and try to convert their 'prisoners' into agents for future use. Attempting to awaken Maake and force them into war may have failed, but drawing the attention of the world to them with a few well-placed actors wasn't out of the question just yet.

Liana was trained and re-trained in infiltration and piloting, coming around to the shadow-mirror way of thinking over time and with experience of their technology. She was given a modified version of a machine once used by her former comrades, with the hope that a few attacks on other nations would provoke them into invading first. This plan was (un)fortunately never able to be put into practice - circumstances were changing rapidly, and by the time her mech was complete the world had already begun to end.

She was one of the more fortunate evacuees, making it across the boundary with both machine and body intact. She was paired up with one of the few other survivors of her kind, and provided a new mission that suited the role she had been trained for. Balance needed to be kept, as while this new world was steeped in conflict, an end to those wars could already be predicted. And that... just wouldn't do. They would shift the scales back in the favour of the losing side - a battle here, an ambush there - to preserve the conflict until the situation could be placed under proper control.

Liana makes up one half of a two-woman mercenary group, trying to keep her partner out of trouble and clearing obstacles out of her way. While they're clearly working to a contract the details have never been revealed, the woman herself avoiding the subject or otherwise refusing to answer. Regardless of the details, they've become known for backing up the underdog in a conflict - no matter the situation. They show up on battlefields with little warning and assault whoever is in a position of power, withdrawing once the tide starts to turn in their favour.

Rarely they’ll remain behind after a battle, requesting supplies or repairs as ‘payment’ for their assistance. She tries to avoid getting attached to other pilots in such a situation, as fate is fickle - the ally of today may become an enemy tomorrow if the tide shifts too far in their favour.

Mobile Weapon: Aion Gamma.

Affiliation: Unknown.

Combat Style: Liana's style is almost entirely defensive. She lets the enemy place themselves into a position of weakness them opens up with everything she has, hoping to rip them apart before they can extract themselves. In drawn-out battles or when outnumbered she'll try to force the enemy to group up, allowing her to maximize the amount of damage done per attack and attempt to outlast her foe.

Strengths: Her analytical style and psychic powers give her an almost supernatural ability to spot weaknesses, and from there it's only a couple of steps to exploiting them.

Weaknesses: She can be slow to act, too caught up in waiting for the perfect moment to notice that she's been forced into a losing position.

Finishing Moves: Twin Buster Cannon: The Aion drops into a crouch, momentarily disabling all other weapons as all power is diverted to the cannons. The entire machine transforms, the shoulders and arms forming a pair of stabilised cannons. The resultant beam is incredibly destructive, but impossible to retarget post-transformation.

Description:

History:

The Aion series was utilised exclusively by Maake, produced in limited numbers with no expense spared to ensure the safety of their people. The Gamma was the hardiest of the three produced, designed to be able to hold a contested point for an extended period of time while other units flanked and destroyed the enemy, or wipe out small groups of tanks and mobile weapons single handedly.

This particular unit has been heavily modified after its capture by Shadow-mirror forces, adding stealth technology* and a T-link system to synchronise better with the pilot. Pilot permitted to allow non-cleared engineers to perform repairs on drive and weapon systems, but access to all other systems should be forcefully discouraged.

*The unit is able to almost completely vanish from radar or radar equivalents (including methods of sensing prana) when not engaged in combat, It can also disrupt communications in an area, but this requires pilot focus and as such is unfeasible in a pitched battle.

The Aion Gamma is a unique machine of unknown origin, presumed to be a prototype of some abandoned series of units. All mechanical data has been obtained as a result of the machine and pilot requesting repairs after battle. It’s inner workings are an oxymoron - unknown devices and advanced systems sit side-by-side with a mass-produced engine using common parts and interchangeable weapon systems.
