Biography: Once a Quasi-knight of the Lunar Kingdom, Verlauren -or "Lauren" as he was called among his equals and peers- had thought he had his life figured out. He was a proud warrior, fighting for his kingdom and his people, with the ideals that he was taught were absolute ever since he was young. Yet, when time had come for the people to rebel against the feudalistic ambitions of the nobles, Lauren stood his ground amongst those who were willing to oppress and silence anyone who wanted to go against them. It was a challenge against their ideals and wills, which Lauren had put so much faith and belief in all his life. Inevitably, the kingdom had lost, and so has he. But rather than be honorably be killed in battle, Lauren was one of the few of the old guard that had managed to survive, in a cruel twist of fate.
Lauren did not just lose physically. He lost everything. His fellow knights, their leaders, and most of all, his will to even continue. While serving his sentence, he had thought he was cruelly trapped in purgatory. Stuck, unable to join the ranks of his men, and in a world that wanted to purge of his kind completely. Even his ideals were shattered entirely when he lost his powers that separated him from the common folk, due to the trauma of his wounds and the fall of his kingdom. All that was left was his endless echo chamber of questions that never got answered: 'Why?'.
One day, that changed. Even when no one else, not even Lauren, saw value in him, it was Director Sullivan that saw there was good in him. He gave the former knight a chance to get those answers he was seeking. Lauren initially did not accept the offer; He quickly changed his mind however when he realized that Sullivan, a Terran, was the one chosen to be piloted by Granteed. Perhaps it was fate that gave him this chance. Thus, he was given back his trusty machine, and made a captain to lead a squadron against the new beings and organizations that threatened what was once his home.
Now, in a new, yet somewhat familiar world, Lauren must find answers to all of his questions and begin right back where he started. He must explore whether his ideals were wrong, whether it is fit to fight for a world that does not accept him, or if he ever deserved a second chance in life in the first place, among many other things.
Mobile Weapon: Vorlent.
Affiliation: Endymion
Combat Style: Duelist.
Strengths: Lauren is specialized in honorable duels, having gone through them many times in the old guard. His fighting style is suited around figuring out the opponent's strengths and weaknesses and playing around them, often playing it slow and safe to study them slowly. This was amplified further when he was a psychodriver, but even without his powers, he still has his natural senses and skill to fall back on.
Weaknesses: In a match with more than two combatants, Lauren will show where his skills fall apart. It would take him too long to study two opponents, and his only choice would be to get lucky and find an opening, or more likely fighting defensively. It is one of those weaknesses he first realised when going out in battle for the first time without using his psychic abilities. and one he regrets not fixing when he was still in training.
