The room was more quiet then ever before, a man and a woman sitting in silence. The report of all that had transpired in space finally reached them, an equal source of pride and sadness. An inhale, the woman standing up as the man eyed her.
"Well Cordell," She finally said "the job's far from finished." She took one of the chairs in the room, the one at the head of the table and placed it to the side. The man who sat there was no longer returning and his orders were to continue business as they had before. A contingency in case any of them died- they all had the power granted to them to fill any gaps left in the organizational structure as they wanted.

One empty chair was left, the three pillars of their organization that required filling. But she had never thought that one as required to be filled by a human personally, most jobs here could be handled much better by those more suited for them.
"I'll make preparations for a replacement for Angelo." she passed by the other chair, leaving it in its place.

The man finally spoke up,
"Daisy, we already know who is supposed to be next in line." Cordell let her know, a list on the table. Each of them had a 'successor' planned, someone who could continue where they had left were they to drop dead. It is why they were not allowed to be in the same place as the other.
"Carter also knows this- That Angelo is entrusting his role with him."

She rolled her eyes at the notion.
"Carter can be a second in command, we stand on the cusp of victory we can't afford to bring in someone not ready for the task, would you want Seto to take over engineering now?"

The man clenched his jaw slightly, Seto wasn't ready for that not in the middle of such a big project like Atlas- but he didn't want to give Daisy the satisfaction of hearing him say she was right either, not when he stared at the direct legacy of their leader in front of him. It felt like a subversion of the system made to balance them.

"As I thought, once things have calmed down we can do a proper transition. Until then what we need is the ability to manage larger groups. We are in a category 3 after all, our Bioroids need machines and leaders- Your units and my bioroids they were always the foundation for the tomorrow we aimed for- But we need the people walking around outside to be guided today." The screen behind them switched to another image, the cameras in the hangars showing the latest model. Something which could keep pace with the production increase while reduced cost while still posing a threat in battle.

"We've kindled the fire, now we nurture the flames."
