As the dark side of the moon receded, it revealed a strange sight to any onlooker in lunar orbit curious enough to crane their neck below: A dome of sorts on the lunar surface, made of white metal, so vast in scale as to visible from the very surface of the Earth - a tiny bump on the otherwise flawless face of the Moon. It had been under construction for over five years, and despite numerous setbacks, would now serve a critical function in providing energy independence to the Lunar sphere - a new age power plant that could extract pure energy from other worlds. Dimensional energy was renewable, seemingly limitless, and above all - safe for everyday use in a variety of roles. Furthermore, not only would it serve as a power plant, but also a fortress - once completed, the ZONE's own reservoir of energy would render it nigh-impervious to attacks...

In theory, at least.

In truth, such a construct had never actually been built before - the ZONE was the first of its kind and it was something of a wonder that the Dimensional Energy Institute had been invited to be involved in its construction at all. Despite their strength in the field, the Institute had long been reviled as a place where undesirables and outcasts from the Kingdom had fled, their talents being put to use in often unscrupulous ways for the benefit of the (charitably described) morally-flexible Directory. Those acquainted with this perception could not help but shift uncomfortably in their seats as the semicircular form of the ZONE rose in the horizon over the years.

Now, on the day of its completion, it peered starward with its crystal cerulean iris, as though scrutinizing the dark depths as figures milled about busily below.

At length, the form of a colossal blue and gold machine, built like a spiked mountain almost 60 meters tall, strode its way across the surface, kicking up clouds of white as it approached a predetermined point at the ZONE's exterior.

Within the cockpit, Sir William Exeter cleared his throat. Today was an auspicious day, he thought. The day that the ZONE would undertake its first test, and Luna would truly take its first step towards being recognized as an independent entity from the Directory. Ever weary of interference, the Lunar government had issued forth orders to its Knights to guard the ZONE for the duration of the test. Some of them he knew and recognized - but others were unfamiliar, and he was looking forward to seeing how they fought. He glanced down at the map as he pondered his speech:

The area around the ZONE had been divided into three sectors: Alpha, Beta, and Gamma. He was currently occupying Alpha, and more would be arriving soon... Raising his voice to what he thought sounded like a nobleman's own, the Saffiard issued a broadcast:

"Attention all Orders... This is Sir Exeter. The test will be commencing shortly, so in the event of communications failure, state your name and location."

The scientist grumbled to himself as he sat in the Astranagant's cockpit, he hadn't been granted as much as a look into the ZONE's functions and now he had been ordered to protect it. Even worse he was put just far away enough that he wouldn't be able to conduct any scans and maybe get some readings as to the underlying functions of the blue orb.

Whatever, those fools at the DEI were lucky to even be allowed back onto the moon's surface to work on such a project. His arms moved around the foreign controls of the Black Angel and Derrick himself had shifted forward to get a, only slightly, closer look at the ZONE's shape on his cameras.
The green wings would dissipate as he had reached his target coordinates, the monstrous machine landed on the edge of a crater with an inaudible thud and a very visual cloud of moon dust that almost reached the black machine's knee.
"How does that damn thing work." he mumbled under his voice, but before he could make any theories his comms had flared to life with one Sir Exeter's voice which caused him to take a deep breath and run a hand through his hair.

"Derrick Oswald Vance, Sector Beta." as he spoke the moonite had removed his coat, opting instead to have it behind the chair in his cockpit. He was not excited to have to work with one of the 'famed' machine designer family's members. He leaned back in his chair, looking over the area he was assigned to.

If nothing happens, great I get to be out of here and back to actually useful things and if something happens its not like anything could stand a chance against me.
Derrick reasoned, smiling to himself as he waited in the cockpit.

"Everybody is a mad scientist, and life is their lab" - David Croneberg.
As a fellow scientist, Mel was in his Axio's cockpit looking at the wonderful ZONE, admiring it. "Magnificent and glorious, with this, we'll be able to have a step over the others, they'll pay what they did to me, THEY WILL." thought Mel, as he was approaching one of the sectors.

The experiment was about to take place, the glorious image of the 18 meters of tactical power already reached the said zone, and as he prepared his assault rifle for action, he activated the communications to inform his position: "Mel Khan, Sector Gamma."

And after that, he stood there, waiting for anything to happen and for the first ZONE test to start, after all, this will all be precious data they can use for later on.

Sector Gamma

A large unit moved a few crates towards the ZONE.

"This should be the last of em. Alright Gunleon let's get this done so I can get myself an early dinner" the pilot commented as he moved his unit towards the ZONE.

The pilot looked towards his destination and sighed. "What is that thing anyway... It's so big and...Blue..."he commented looking at the ZONE.

Adachi Yoshida. A young mechanic who works in a junk shop within the Lunar Kingdom was hired on to this expedition of studying this so called "ZONE". But he was given little to no information of what it actually was. All he knew was that it would be a "Scientific breakthrough" and it's to "Advance the technology of our kingdom". Both to which Adachi didn't pay much attention to or just didn't care. He almost denied the request if it wasn't for his father insisting Adachi to accept the request.

Adachi reluctantly accepted. But he couldn't shake the feeling that...There was something more to this than meets the eye. "I swear to god if that thing ends up being a doomsday device..." he complained as he made his way towards the transport unit

Arriving at his destination he gently made his unit lower the crates to the transport unit that was waiting for him. After the items were securely placed, he watched the transport unit take the equipment towards the research area where Adachi was not allowed to enter.

"Oh, I wonder why I'm allowed in the research area." Adachi commented sarcastically before making his Gunleon pick up it's giant wrench.

Before leaving to the cafeteria he took one more look at the ZONE and said " Please don't be a doomsday device." Before making his way to the cafeteria.

"Adachi Yoshida. Sector Gamma. Currently heading to the cafeteria to get myself something to eat." Adachi spoke into his radio.

"Sir Beaumont, reporting from Sector Gamma." Now that was a name William Exeter would certainly recognize. The Grand Arbiter did not often take idle strolls, and this was no exception. While his status would have afforded him the leeway to refuse the call to arms for Knights, to do so would have been unseemly. And quite frankly, even if this test procedure proved uneventful the opportunity to escape the daily houndings of his station for a time was welcome...not a sentiment he would have dared to utter within earshot of his contemporaries, of course.

The Giganscudo descended from the Lunar 'sky', and courtesy of the unit's Tesla Drive it settled to the surface with a slow, steady grace at odds with its gargantuan bulk. Two other machines had so far taken to the same field, it seemed: a small mass-produced machine and an unusual orange construct. He towered rather hilariously over the Axio, and even the large-scale Gunleon barely cleared the red-and-white giant's waist. The gentle curve of the ZONE glinted in the distance, forming one edge of their wide operational zone.

"I hope the day finds you well, Sir Exeter?"

Slow and steady as the tides, the penumbral darkness ceded its grasp of both the lunar soil and its mechanized inhabitants. As the roll call rolled on, so too did a looming shadow emerge from depths of Nyx's curtain. Its owner bore a visage that needed no introductions, least of all to the gentry assembled below.

The impeccably carved face was that of a woman - silent, serene, otherworldly. Her eyes were closed in a tranquil slumber. Her lips were still, but poised, as if at any moment they might defy material science and spring open to speak to her followers. Alabaster cheeks and a long, slender neck flowed outward from these features, and were subsequently framed by armored metal of a similarly pristine white. A full hundred meters of hull behind her head, a massive font of lustrous blonde locks flowed forth. A scant ten meters down, another fifty of intricate breastplate evoked her maidenly figure.

Bearing this effigy of the Alabaster Lady aloft was the stalwart and rather more functional body of a spacecraft. Its hard angles and sweeping lines were fittingly pale. It was granted some color by the seams of red trim at intervals down its engine block. Two smaller craft were docked at the sides as gargantuan hands, and yet another two over the maiden's shoulders as cannons of a most peculiar design. Anti-air turrets lay overtly dotted along the rear surfaces, while more fearsome artillery was carefully stowed in numerous compartments.

The Grand Dreadnought Fenossa, pride of the Lunar navy.

Much like the exterior, the bridge of the Fenossa was grand in scale but plain in design. At its center rested a command chair, where the rumpled Sir Richard Dougal was seated. To his right stood a placid man named Virgil, of piercing eyes and brilliant blonde hair. The only other stations currently manned were by a pair of tawny siblings - the rest was being handled by automation and automatons. With each broadcast from the units below, their positions were confirmed on the main screen's tactical overlays. Once the ship itself had crossed into Alpha sector, it was Virgil who finally gave reply.

"... excellent. All friendlies in the area accounted for here. Bisen Foris reports ready as well."

'Ready' was a relative term of course. Within the aft hold, the members of the Order of Bisen Foris were... if not all entirely alert, at least adjacent to the concept. The more actively responsible amongst their number were in the midst of final checks on their machines. The less so were still finding their way down from the pilot ready room, drink pouches in hand. And then there was the amazon in unit one. Or, on unit one, it seemed. Valencienne Kiraly was a whole lotta woman stuffed into a snug normal-suit. Right at the moment, though, she was draped on the nose of the Ignis Kaiser, looking out at a view of sand and sea. Because really, all things considered, what was the worst that could happen here?

Sir Exeter felt pride welling up in his chest as the Knights assembled. The finest machines of the Kindom, assembled to see their moment of triumph and independence from the Directory. The Saffiard offered a salute to the hulking form of the Giganscudo, as well as the looming Fenossa, a gleaming golden and cerulean arm coming up to its forehead. So polished was its poise, it was the very picture of a knight in shining armor - the symbol of the Kingdom itself.

"It does, esteemed Arbiter." Responded the Knight errant, his voice firm and full of emotion; "To stand besides yourself, and the Order of Bisen Foris… Is a great honor, no matter the occasion."

Of course, such a thing didn't need to be said - Exeter had only recently gotten back on its feet, and had yet to fully regain its former standing in the Kingdom's ranks. Today, he thought, would be an opportunity to show the dignity of his house once more - but his thoughts were interrupted as a transmission made its way from the zone, telltales starting to wink on across its surface.

"ZONE, Now commencing test firing. All units, please stand by."
The Saffiard turned to face the fortress... and William gave something of an internal swallow, trying to focus on retaining the stability of the D-Extractor within his machine - there was no telling, after all, what an activation on this scale would do to it. Dimensional resonance was an unpredictable thing, and he wanted to make sure the Special didn't do anything he didn't want it to.

Around the assembled machines, the void became... Thick, as though a heat haze were passing through it. Hairs on the backs of necks began to rise, and in some, a faint taste of blood at the back of their throat, as the very fabric of reality began to buckle, tremendous force being applied to create the initial puncture between worlds that would serve to supply them with limitless power.

"Minor Dimensional Aberrations detected, well within expected parameters. Advancing to stage two."
The massive glass canopy mounted atop the ZONE turned from blue to red, and above the assembled machines, slight cracks began to form against the stars, as though it were merely a glass enclosure - but just as quickly healed over, a normal effect of the application of Dimensional Force en masse. After approximately 5 minutes, even these too began to subside, as the link between worlds stabilized. William breathed a sigh of relief, opening a communications line to the group, preparing to announce the success of the experiment- but to his surprise, the other line crackled to life one more, the operator on the other end sounding... Uncertain.

"Wait... There appears to be some manner of..."
"ZONE Team? What's your status? You're breaking up-"

"--imensional qua--! Eva--- im--edi---!"

It was sudden - that was what would be recalled about it later.

Without warning, a massive blast of green energy lanced up out of the ZONE, smashing into the sky, as though it had... Impacted something. There was... A tinkling, a crackling...

And then... The stars overhead shattered.

With the point directly over the ZONE as its center... Reality seemed to cave in, cracks running in all directions, tearing a massive, multi-colored hole in realspace. Beyond its jagged, cruelly cut edges was... A maelstrom of churning energy and raw power, formless-

...No, wait...

It was anything but formless. From the heart of the distortion... Something truly massive began to descend, distorting and rending the space around it as it did. It was... Like nothing ever before seen on Earth - easily over two hundred meters in height, resembling the severed maw of some... World devouring monster. It was cut in reds, blacks, and golds - but most prominent was the gigantic mass of Dimensional Energy Crystal - more than had ever been seen in the history of the world - concentrated at the heart of its mass. Arrayed around it were a series of nightmarish jaws and fangs, arranged in interlocking fashion that gave it the appearance of a crown of sorts, one that would suit the Devil himself.

The Revive DAMON loomed over the lunar landscape as the reality of its existence began to assert itself, a vile intruder to the world of man.

And it had not come alone.

Above, countless other DAMON could be seen forming in the gaps between the stars, their teeth, claws, and gemstone-hued features legion in number. It would only be a short matter of time before they forced their way through in the wake of the fortress-like monstrosity.

"By the Lady...!" Cried Exeter; his blood running cold at the very sight of the monster above - and its seemingly infinite companions. There wasn't any more time for a dramatic speech, even if he had the capacity to give it, for death had arrived at the doorway of the Lunar Kingdoms...

Adachi looked to the "sky" and watched everything unfold. He watched as reality broke right before his eyes. But he was surprisingly calm given the situation. Having nothing but a slightly disapproving look on his face. He then turned his attention towards the Revive DAMON and raised an eyebrow.

Adachi took a few moments to take in the situation before he calmly activated his radio.

"Adachi Yoshida here... Sector Gamma... Would anyone care to explain..." he started in a calm and collected manner. "THE FUCK?!"Adachi screamed releasing the anger and panic he was holding back until now.

With the Grand Arbiter himself and the Order of Bisen Foris both here the initiation of the ZONE was seeming less like the start of a new era of energy use but more like a whole lot of showboating. With the zone activating Derrick would observe the effect in the sky to pass the time. Somewhat trying to find a pattern in the cracks as the formed and healed.

For some reason whoever organized this mess had decided to place three people in the Gamma sector, and leave him on his own. The scientist had his own issues with that idea but it did have the merit of not having anyone in his way should something happen. Five minutes of boredom and fingers tapping on controls passed and so when the comms were saying that the ZONE was moving on to phase two the scientist thought himself to be free of the task.

But then, the sky shattered.

A DAMON. The largest he, no anyone, had ever seen and with it, countless of its smaller kin, all eager to burst forth into their reality and destroy. If they had allowed him to work on this project this surely wouldn't have happened Derrick thought, as someone well versed in dealing with powers beyond their control he contributed this disaster to a miscalculation by the parties involved.

After recovering from his momentary surprise at the emergence of the beast the Astranagant's wings would flare to life, soft green light illuminating the moon's surface as it drew its Z.O. Sword. An idea arose in the mind of the moonite as his weapons readied, if he was left alone he could be his own ally. The two gun familiars would activate, launching themselves from the wings.

"I'll agree with the previous statement, although for now I'll focus on destroying the beasts rather than question who was incompetent and where."

As the first crack in the emptiness of the space appeared, Mel looked at it with curiosity, but he felt relieved when it disappeared after five minutes. After all, the ZONE test firing was perfect.

Of course, that was what he thought until the greater dimensional quake happened. At that moment, he was shocked to see new types of these monsters, which appeared from the emptiness of the space, along with that enormous monster that stood out among all the other dimensional monsters. During a moment, he felt some kind of pressure in his chest, almost as if he was afraid of the challenge that was fighting against such an army.

But that was not a problem, one could later stop once this is finished and think about what happened, what he had to do now is to fight, after all, one of his partners at that sector was the Grand Arbiter himself, and although his Axio wasn't as powerful as his mech, he wouldn't retreat at the first sign of hardship.
Then, as he was looking at the army through his monitor, he actioned a lever in order to move his Axio's free arm to his back, so he could prepare his rocket launcher for action.

And so, with his assault rifle in one hand, and the rocket launcher in the other, the Axio stood ready for whatever was about to come at them.

"I also agree, we should focus on the battle at hand." Said Mel through his communicator.

Raising high one great slab of a shield, the Giganscudo moved to return the Saffiard's salute in kind, as well as pay due respects to the crew of the Fenossa. Its pilot favored the younger man with a light smile, and though the expression would go unseen its warmth carried through to the tone of his words. "The honor is mine, Sir Exeter. Without the presence of knights such as yourself, our Kingdom would be greatly diminished." Despite strict impartiality being a condition of his station, Charles found himself harboring something of a soft spot for the young scion of House Exeter. That kind of self-made attitude was something he could admire, rising anew from the ashes of the fallen House through rigorous effort - a tale not unlike the one that had led a certain ambitious youth to achieve the post of Grand Arbiter...

He was shaken from his reverie by a transmission from the ZONE: the main event was starting at last. His hands lay light on the Giganscudo's controls, resting easy for the moment but prepared to leap to action with blinding, practiced speed. If there was one thing Charles Beaumont's duties had taught him, it was patience. There was much waiting to be had as snooty noblemen exchanged crass insults and strutted with false bravado before the duels he was obliged to arbitrate, and so learning to occupy himself during such periods - while remaining attentive and ready to interject at a moment's notice should the situation sour - had become a well-honed skill.

The minutes seemed to crawl by as the test progressed without undue issue, the void above the ZONE crackling and shifting with the flux of Dimensional Energy. It seemed as though all was progressing according to the plan that had been previously relayed to those in attendance. And then - in the span of a single panicked and garbled message - the space above the assembled burst asunder, a great font of raw dimensional power roiling forth to blast the veil between realities into so much shattered ruin.

The curse that left the Arbiter's lips was closer to Adachi's utterance than Exeter's in its elegance, or lack thereof. The left shield of the Giganscudo slammed nose-first into the lunar soil and right swinging across its torso as its pilot instinctively assumed a defensive stance. But the fine haze of suspended dust thrown up by the action was not near enough to obscure what was occurring - no, what was emerging - from the fracture between universes. A colossal mawed beast that easily dwarfed even the Giganscudo in scale, a many-fanged monster of such grotesque form that it transcended even their worst nightmares. And beyond it lay forces in legion, easily identified as DAMON but taking shapes hitherto unknown to man. As with any such creature before them, their hostile intent was clear.

"For the safety of our Kingdom of Everglory, and for the sake of our independence..." The triangular pyramid that formed the Giganscudo's chest expanded forward, splitting along a seam halfway up its height to expose a dense array of energy collectors; iridescent, multicolored sparks seemed to appear out of thin air as power was drawn into the gap until it shone with a blinding brilliance. A pull of the trigger and it coalesced into a column of blazing crimson energy that lanced out directly toward the Revive DAMON as the mecha threw its arms wide to open the way.

"...I hereby order, on authority of the Grand Arbiter: all units, attack!"

Resting a tawny hand atop his earpiece, the other of the Rine siblings tilted his head to call back over his shoulder, his fluffy raven tresses spilling down one shoulder.

"ZONE reporting ready to commence, sir."

Sir Richard drew his brawny arms into a cross over his chest, and cast a sidelong glance to his deputy. Virgil's icy hues turned where his head did not, meeting smugness with frankness, and that only briefly. The next moment they had flitted forward again, while the hands behind his back quietly tightened their clasp on each other. He gave a curt nod to Mr. Rine in turn. His crisp baritone soon filtered from comm panels throughout the ship.

"All hands, steady as she goes. Stay alert for any unusual phenomena."

One of the sundry display boxes littering the main screen lit up with a countdown. The collective eyes of the bridge crew drifted to it, anticipation welling with the numerals' descent. Time slowed as thoughts quickened. The world sat still, ticking off the arbitrary seconds somewhere in proximity to what was happening below. At six, Joseph Rine drew his lips taut. At five, Vanessa subconsciously stiffened in her chair. At three, Sir Richard's smirk grew. Medics, engineers, the very goddess herself all watched in rapt attention. The timer ticked to its end, and the moment was at hand.

There was silence. For what seemed an eternity anyway, there was only silence and stillness. Then came a twitch, a tremor. The faintest of vibrations creeping through the bulkheads. Tension began to mount, the sense of a palpable, pervasive, impending... something, starting to loom at the edge of perception. A soft chime drew Mr. Rine's gaze to the left.

"D-E density at 60% of projection and rising. 65. 67. ZONE reporting all green, moving to phase two."

The percussive whisper grew steadily into a rattling thrum. The ship began to quiver in place, causing eyes to drift curiously around their stations, momentarily second-guessing how securely their surroundings were fastened. Outside, space and time rippled as a breeze against so many dry leaves. The longer it went on, the more the tremor grew, the ship shivering against the roll of the waves. All the while, Joseph's voice kept time amid the squall.

"95.8. 96.2. Ninety- wait, hold on..."

Three minutes out, as the younger man quizzically tapped at his display, Sir Richard slid his arms back to their rests, flicking on the commlink to the engine room.

"Eh... Huck? Why is my ship experiencing a seaquake in space?"

"D-E swell picking up," came the terse bass on the other end. "Boosting deflector output to compensate."

The seconds continued ticking away, reality itself splitting its seams and melding them back together. The rattling churned on, unfazed.

"D-E density now exceeding projection. 105... 106!"
"... Huck..."
"On it. Density rising faster than our boost, though, I'm gonna need more power."

At the engineer's request, Virgil strode calmly to a nearby control panel. There he stood with remarkable rigidity, his fingers moving with exacting precision along the display. Sir Richard set his jaw, an uneasy half-smile on his lips. His eyes lingered on the blonde-topped cassock issuing authorizations across the room. By the fourth minute, Virgil drew himself back to his full height.

"Junction twenty-seven, Mr. Carmichael."

Presently the energy flowed in earnest, and the Fenossa began to steady herself on her keel. The tremors fell to a dull but persistent roar about them. Vanessa craned her head to glance around the bridge as it calmed. Sir Richard settled a little more comfortably against his chair. Joseph, however, forced down a hard and nervous swallow.

"D-E density stabilizing at... two-hundred thir-"

He trailed off, his fine features contorting, trying to focus on his earpiece. His hand lifted to it again, his auburn eyes turning aside in the motion. Unobserved, the gauge for dimensional energy wave density began to climb again, and rapidly.

"... say again? ZONE, this is the Fenossa, repeat, say again?"
"Captai-!"

Vanessa barely had time to see, process, and falter half the word from her lips before the ship abruptly lurched, ringing from prow to stern from the blow that had hit her dead-on. The turbulent roared back with a vengeance, the dreadnought quaking violently, Sir Richard grinding his teeth against the force of it. Alerts chimed their tinny tunes, displays blared red, every inch of the vessel to the smallest bolt seeming to rattle and strain. The crew held fast to their stations with white-knuckle grips. Virgil adjusted his footing to keep his balance amid the rocking.

"Nnngh... HUCK! Deflectors would be mighty welcome about now!"
"Gonna need more horsepower for that sir!"
"Done. You'll find it in junctions twenty-eight to thirty, Mr. Carmichael!"

The hull groaned, the engines snarled, and the ship gingerly heaved into the wind, trying to find its footing. In the hold, Sir Kiraly squealed as she was tossed from her tropical daydream, and slid on her butt straight down the nose of the Ignis Kaiser. The fighter swayed softly in its berth, cushioned only slightly by its suspension from its moorings. Somehow, just before she would have gone flying right off the tip, she managed to scrabble her burly limbs around it, clinging to the jet for dear life with legs and arms alike. She even managed to get a relieved sigh out, before the next toss of the the waves sent her clawing her way back toward the cockpit.

"Bridge! What the hell is going on up there?!" she wailed.
"A momentary intermission, Miss Kiraly!" the captain ruefully quipped back, "But you might want to make sure your team is securely belted! And keep your extractors warm!"

Slowly but surely, the ship found enough stability for eyes to finally glimpse the breaking of the sky outside. Ms. Rine's jaw dropped as her mind struggled to take in the magnitude of it all. Her eagle eyes darting from point to point, the words choked in the back of her throat.

"Six thousand... seven thousand percent!" Joseph counted off incredulously.
"What... what the HELL is that?!!" she finally spat.

Hell itself tore open a lunar dawn, eldritch creatures defying logic or description gleefully stepping to the border between worlds. A calamity came on sinewy tendrils, flashing its hundred thousand teeth. All around it, a million million pairs of eyes danced with excitement. Time and space whipped across their hull as so much salt and spray, the stalwart goddess keeping her somnolent visage within the din. Staring into the heart of the gale, Sir Richard gave breath to a mirthless chortle and glanced to Virgil.

"... eh-heh. You uh... don't suppose they're friendly, do you?"
"Not unless you express friendship with daggers to the gullet!"

Punching up the ship-wide comms, the captain leaned on his left arm, bellowing into it. "All hands, main battle positions! Fire control teams, prepare to launch!" And then, snapping his attention to the helmswoman, "Reverse three quarters, until we're at the rear boundary. And take us down to a thousand meters!"

True to his instructions, the Fenossa began to shrink backward toward the sector limits. Her gun ports opened as she withdrew, and the massive cones of violet and crystal began to glow with a menacing light. Crackles of energy licked along the protrusions. Within their respective bridges, control teams hurriedly prepared to deploy. For her part, Sir Kiraly impatiently bounced her heel against the floor of her fightercraft. Somewhere around the time she was deciding to march up to the bridge in person, she finally got a further response to her comms.

"Finally!" she cried, scooting forward in her seat, the lights of the hangar glinting across her helmet. "Are we heading out or what?"

On the bridge, a contemplative breath rattled in Sir Richard's throat. His jaw slowly ground from side to side, his russet beard dragging along his collar.

"With any luck, this will just be a turkey shoot for us. But somehow, looking at that thing... I don't think it's going to be that easy. Still. We're deploying Boreas and Notus along our forward trajectory - Boreas is taking the long way to the other side of the ZONE. Eurus and Zephyrus will move to flank. That should let us lay down suppression fire to stem the tide, but we can only spread fire so far without risking the facility...

That's where you come in, Miss Kiraly! The D-E distortions are blocking our transmissions with the facility. And... just about anyone else. But something's clearly gone wrong down there. In one minute, we're going to launch a low-yield spread from the homing lasers to test that thing's defenses. I want you to launch just behind it, to the coordinates Virgil's sending now! Get in, figure out what's going on, save who you can if possible. But above all else, shut that thing down, whatever it takes. Understood?"

"Yes Sir!"

Piece by piece, the sub-units of the Fenossa began to detach - both gauntlets from the Lady's sides, and both spearpoints from her shoulders. As they moved to the fore to meet their alien foes, the bank of homing lasers near the aft were bathed in light from within. The knights of Bisen Foris sat within their respective Kaisers, orgone extractors whirring at full tilt behind. In their ears rang the countdown from the bridge, Joseph's silken tenor doing little to ease the anxiety of what lay ahead. Numeral by numeral, however, the moment drew nearer, each of them finding their resolve, and bracing for the jump mere breaths away.

"3... 2... 1! LAUNCH!"

Great plumes of incandescent energy erupted from the laserbanks, sailing toward the montrosity's megalithic hide. And just behind, amid a cloud of verdant neon, four machines and twelve brave knights blinked out of existence in safety - to reappear in the unknown that lie ahead.

The Fenossa's batteries and the Giganscudo's beam smashed into the Revive DAMON's hovering form, causing it to rock precariously as the blasts impacted its D-Fault barrier. The multi-hued field, as if the creature's sheer wrongness given form, remained unable to completely undo the harm visited upon its owner - and the combined attacks tore away at the creature's lower jaw, shattering its teeth and ripping the lower mouth such that it hung by a mere thread as the combined attack's force was dissipated across it's incredible mass.

With a dread shudder, the creature turned slightly, bringing the Fenossa in it's sights. Its entire form rocked, and then split. It's center section wrenched open, revealing a mouth that could devour worlds, rowed with gleaming, semi-metallic teeth, and a horrid, all-too-real throat. It gave another threatening rumble - and them a scream that caused the entire area to rattle with its force, as a trio of... What could only be described as tongues with teeth, each as big as a Special Mobile Weapon itself, erupted from its throat. These traveled through the air briefly before punching their own way through subspace, tunneling with no regard for the laws of physics whatsoever towards the object of its hatred: The vessel.

One burst from immediately above the ship, jaw snapping violently as it attempted to sink its teeth into the ship's bridge, but-

"W-HORN!"

A bright blue light pulsed from below as the Saphiarde sprang into action. A pair of katar-like blades erupted from its back, seized quickly by Exeter's knight, which combined them together before it, blades of crackling energy surging to life about its being. Pulling its arm back, the Special leaned away... And then forward, hurling the weapon like a javelin skyward, Exeter roaring with in the confines of the cockpit:

"Devil take you, monster!"

The weapon was thrown true, burying itself clean through the "throat" of the appendage, severing it in a spray of multi-colored viscera before it winked out of existence. The remaining two jaws however, erupted from either side of the craft, closing in, attempting to seize hold of it's sides...

Revive DAMON

Section Beta

It was perhaps fitting that the Astranagant stood alone. Any machine but that would have perhaps quaked at the possibility of facing an otherworldly on its lonesome... But the Black Angel was a masterpiece, the Moon's dark secret and ace in the hole. Today, it would whet its blade for the first time against those that threatened the order of the universe.

Before it, several large impacts struck the lunar soil, sending up a cascade of dust. From it, emerged not one, not two... But a trio of Rhino DAMON, their armored hides shaking off the force of impact as if it was nothing. These were flanked by nine Bull DAMONs, dropping to the lunar soil with more grace than their more heavy set fellows as they charged forward. The Rhinos, slower going, trundled along behind them -but the entire group turned its singular focus on the nexus of their fury: The Astranagant.

Had they been on Earth, if Adachi had cast his gaze skyward, he would surmised the sudden blackening to be on account of some massive amount of crows... Or perhaps, locusts.

The latter wasn't actually too far off.

Hurtling from above like darts came countless smaller DAMON, surging forth from the confines of the large one. They were... Sharp, pointed, like living arrows... And so numerous they blocked out the sky. They surged through the gate between worlds as well, filling the stars with their flitting, flickering forms. At length, they spied the Giganscudo, Gunleon and their diminutive Axio companion below... And almost as one, charged.

Three distinct swarms of the creatures fell upon them from above, releasing a rain of dimensional energy in the form of beams that slashed the lunar soil as they began to accelerate, seemingly in a suicidal dive, yet...

Dart DAMON x ???

ZONE Interior

Bisen Fortis arrived to a scene of absolute chaos.

With the exterior of the ZONE unapproachable on account of the masses of DAMON, the Order's orgone-cloud powered jumps would have taken them directly into the close-packed service tunnels that riddled the structure's interior. A mobile weapon would have been unable to navigate its confines - but the various components of the Kaiser, with careful maneuvering, hurtling through space as blasts of dimensional energy lashed the buildings around them, would have been able to make their way to safety. Eventually, they would have reached something of a central clearing - or more accurately, a central processing shaft designed for moving components between different areas of the fortress.

Bisen Fortis's internal maps of the installation, as well as reports from its still-functioning safety systems would indicate that there were at least three areas that had suffered critical damage - all of which were located below. Directly across from them, the central column - the core of the installation, was located under heavy guard. It was there they would, hopefully, find the source of the problem... But the question remained: Who to send where?

One hand went through Derrick's hair as he looked upon his twelve opponents. Mere mindless beasts who would set upon him with rage and anger befitting that status. The only thing visually appealing about these monstrosities would be the crystals upon their armor.

The scientists leaned upon his other arm, there would be a moment until the first of them arrived at his position. A smile crept upon his face.
His free hand went from his hair to the alien controls, he knew just the right welcoming present for these filthy beasts who dared enter their dimension.

"Fire! Attract Shower!" with a mere thought and a command the seemingly infinite T-link feathers shot upwards, these beasts stood no chance against the Black Angel, the armored ones likely would survive, but that was no issue and if the lesser DAMONs somehow lived through the hail of green death he had his own plans for that.

The smile on his face only got wider as the green feathers shed by death itself hailed upon his foes, exploding on impact with both the surface of the moon or anything else they came into contact with, this would both be an excellent estimation of his fighting power and the resilience of these monstrosities. His free arm rose from the controls, before pointing forward, the Gun familiars would receive a command from their master.

"Eliminate the survivors." Perhaps being on his own was a blessing in disguise, he could use every tool in his disposal bar that without having to worry about eliminating an ally. No Grand Arbiter there to look over his shoulder, no knights to bother him about his methods. Just a nice serene quiet and the deaths of all that dared intrude.

Besides, the gun familiars would acknowledge and follow his orders without fail and already they were moving forward to shoot anything that came out of the hail alive. Should something get past them, then he had plenty more weaponry to turn against these beasts and should one get destroyed, repairing them was a simple task for Derrick as long as that forbidden knowledge inhabited his skull.

"Khan! Yoshida! To my shadow!" snapped out the Giganscudo's pilot, in a tone that indicated the order's utmost urgency to those at the helm of the Axio and Gunleon.

The fury of the swarm rained upon the gargantuan machine even as it raised twinned shields, umbrella-like, in defense. Their rays scorched and pocked even its mighty armor by sheer weight of fire; each left but a single glowing pinprick against its plating, but such was their number that those points of heat rapidly bloomed together into bulging spots of cracked and bubbled alloy. While it could readily weather such abuse for some time, Charles realized his compatriots would fare far poorer under the barrage...and based on the velocity and trajectory of their enemy innumerable, the worst was yet to come.

Great panels mounted in the Giganscudo's shoulders and knees ground open, revealing yet further dense clusters of energy condensers embedded beneath the armor there from which wild bolts of brilliant azure plasma began arcing forth. They rapidly resolved themselves into grand circular discs - a quartet of such - that crackled with tremendous energy, pulsing halos ringing the units' limbs. Charles held his fire until the last possible moment - both to catch as many of the foes that screamed down on them as possible, and to give his companions time to clear the blast radius by ensuring they had taken cover beneath the Giganscudo's bulk.

Caution: G-Circle Blaster engaged.
Activate?

It was a weapon the man had had scant few occasions to need, a filthy and indiscriminate thing by the dueling standards of the Lunarian nobility, but one he could not be more thankful to possess at the moment he pulled the trigger. Vast circular blades of plasma arced out from the machine, a flurry of scything rings that drew long blazing lines in the lunar soil as they saturated every square meter in its vicinity. With luck, it would slice the first waves of suicide DAMON to ribbons even as they bore down upon the trio.

Their combined efforts had wounded the great beast, yes - if it bled, they could kill it. But victory appeared yet far from their grasp.

"You don't need to tell me twice!" Adachi responded gritting his teeth as he made his mobile weapon move towards the direction of the Giganscudo as quickly as possible.

The Gunleon moved at full speed, it's caterpillar tracks kicking up the dust behind it. Adachi looked up once again and saw the incoming DAMON getting closer and closer similar to a meteor shower. "If I ever make it out of this alive, I swear I'm installing rocket boots on this thing! And possibly... A missile launcher!" Adachi declared as the Gunleon quickly made it's way under the the Giganscudo. Adachi quickly hit the brakes which made the Gunleon do a slight drift because of the momentum it had built up on it's way here before coming to a complete stop under the titanic mobile weapon.

Looking up, Adachi watched the charging DAMON rain down upon the the large machine damaging it's shields, which made Adachi's face turned bitter at the fact that even this beastly machine's shields could be damaged by these suicidal monsters.

Even after the Giganscudo used it's G-Circle Blaster, Adachi's worries remained on the mobile weapon's damaged shields.

"This ain't good. We need to get those fixed before we all end up dead... and probably eaten" Adachi muttered as he made Gunleon drop it's wrench and took out it's rivet guns.

"This'll have to do for now" Adachi said as Gunleon's green eyes flashed as if it agreed with his statement.

Mel silently agreed at Grand Arbiter's statement, and stood behind him as he fired his Giganscudo's G-Circle Blaster. Even then, there was still a large swarm of Dart DAMONs, and Giganscudo's shields would not last forever, he had to do something apart from standing behind his back.
"Boy, if we don't do something now, we'll get eaten. So start using those guns for something!" He said while he aimed his missile launcher at the remaining Dart DAMONs.

Then, once he aimed at them, his Axio pressed the trigger. As it was pressed, a small (for his other companions) sound was heard, almost as if it was a "bang" as the missile was launched from the weapon without any problem. The only thing that was left after the missile abandoned the weapon, was a small trail of smoke coming from the missile launcher's cannon.

"Maybe we can distract them so their moves become sloppier" -said Mel to his companion in the Gunleon and to the Grand Arbiter. "That way, the shields will resist for more time and they'll be more open against our attacks."

As he said that, he activated his Axio's thrusters, letting off a big cloud of dust that would hopefully attract some Dart DAMONs at him. He aimed at some upcoming beasts with his assault rifle, and as one finger of the Axio pressed the trigger, a small volley of bullets were fired at those DAMONs, he quickly repeated the same movement, just so the dimensional beasts faced a barrage of bullets.

The homing lasers were scarcely passing under the prow, and the captain's roar to launch still fresh in the ear when Vanessa chirped again.

"Detecting another energy signature - Giga-Wide Blaster in sector Gamma!"
"Hmpf! Nice of the arbiter to join in our little light show. Let's just see if it even does anything..."

His burly features fell a little at the sight of the battery dissipating against a barrier in the distance. It wasn't a total loss, given the mangling that ensued regardless. But it still presented an obstacle that would make the day that much more troublesome. He sank his weight against his chair with a fresh rumbling in his throat. Virgil paced back toward the seat, both their eyes fixed on the monstrosity outside.

"... he's going to be a stubborn bastard isn't he."
"I don't know. You seem to have bloodied his jaw just fine."
"That's probably more Beaumont's doing than mine, unfortunately."
"And yet, Captain..."

Sir Richard started to turn his head to glance at the man. Started, and swiftly halted. As the din cleared outside, and the prismatic ripples faded, the great hulk of toothy flesh was turning. Its vast viscera parted. Its colossal fangs gave way to a titanic maw of turgid, trembling muscle, and its gullet let out a scream that shook the void itself. Its bellow rumbled straight to the core of all who beheld it, letting none question the depths of its hatred, ancient and primal.

Virgil glanced sidelong at Sir Richard. Ahead, the snaking tendrils erupted, racing through time and space in unbridled rage.

"... you seem to have its attention."

The captain grinned. A glint of excitement was in his eye and a bead of anxious sweat on his brow. As needles through a cloth, the oncoming maws blinked in and out of existence, closing in with blinding speed. The body of the ship was still gliding in reverse, drifting its way closer to the lunar surface. The rear boundary of Alpha sector rested just beyond the wake of the engines, the dust of time immemorial rested a mere kilometer below them. Gripping his armrests, Sir Richard bellowed.

"Weapons at the ready... hold fast!"

Chomping teeth gnashed ever closer, their sheer bulk starting to blot the stars from the bridge's screens.

"Captain...?" Vanessa warbled uncertainly.
"Courage, Ms. Rine," came Virgil's even reply.
"... Cap-!"

The abrupt beheading of the beast brought a pause to the horror. Vanessa gaped in bewilderment, and then braced, seeing the spray of offal still inbound. Where she flinched, the blonde commander narrowed his eyes against the glare. Almost as immediately as they came, the spatters of carnage vanished from existence again, not a one coming any closer than twenty meters to the hull. Silently, subtly, he lifted his chin the slightest bit. A moment or two later, the helmswoman dared to peep an eye at the complete lack of anything happening. Finding nothing left ahead, she glanced at her monitors, and in short order resumed her post.

".. t-two more hostiles inbound, port and starboard!"

"Heh heh heh... Exeter, you glorious son of a bitch..." the captain muttered to himself, bristling somehow with smug self-satisfaction. By now on the edge of his seat, he threw a thick and meaty arm ahead, his fingers splaying wide. His voice resounded around the bridge in a gleeful soliloquy, nigh heedless of the peril of the two heads rapidly descending.

"ALRIGHT THEN! Listen well you monsters! My fellows have provided you a merry appetizer, but here sits the main course! The misfortune of facing the finest ship ever assembled, in this or any other world - the Grand Dreadnought Fenossa, made in the very image of our Lady!"

"Captain..." Virgil quietly prodded through tightly drawn lips.

Leitmotif - "The Last Fighter Twin", Super Robot Wars OG: The Moon Dwellers

Scant meters left between them and the holy figure resting atop the vessel's back, the heads spread wide their revoltingly gleaming teeth. The white and ochre summarily plastered over in purple-pink, reflecting the brilliant light building atop the goddess's shoulders.

"Now!" Sir Richard continued, fully in the thrall of his own verbal stampede, "Witness the might of Dougal the Brown! Open fire, and unleash! LAST FIRE TWIN!"

At his bidding, the dimensional cannons erupted nearly point-blank into the maws, flooding their hide with searing flame. The surge shot past their teeth and straight down their gullets as well, letting them feast on a ready wellspring of their demise both inside and out. At the same time, similarly-colored emblems materialized over the Fenossa's docking ports for the ships yet afield. Matching emblems appeared on the ships themselves, who similarly erupted in that moment, filling the void space above the titan with an ocean of beamfire. Their arrangement was far from perfect - the area being far too wide for them to cover alone. But ahead of the horde threatening to descend, there now rested an inferno as a bulwark, ready to consume them.

The air was still deep within ZONE. For all the damage elsewhere, and the tremors from the chaos outside, several of its snaking passageways sat quiet and empty. It was in one such unassuming passage that a few motes of green began to materialize. As they drifted aimlessly through the air, joined by ever greater numbers of their kin, a crack of lightning flashed over a sign reading 0929S. The particles began to swirl together, fireflies spinning in a delirious rondeau. Another crack of lightning, and the fireflies scattered way again, through the walls and into the aether, leaving a most peculiar aircraft in their wake. One that hung suspended for a moment, sinking slowly in the lunar gravity, while its pilot looked swiftly from side to side, gathering her bearings.

"... S62-?" she muttered perplexedly. At least until recognition caught up with her, and she sheepishly murmured to herself, "OH! Oh right."

Seizing her flight sticks with a firm hold, she kicked the little fighter's engines over, flash of blue fire bathing the hall behind in its color. Ahead it sailed, banking through shafts it only fit in when turned diagonally, and then mercifully out into larger (but briefer) junctions that at least let it right itself. Having the map in hand, she could take the transit a little faster than was really advisable, licking her lips as she careened around a corner with barely enough space to spare. Such was the nature of landing chunks of a 50 meter giant inside so densly-layered a facility - there were only so many places an orgone engine could even touch down without risk of snarling sensitive equipment. Fitting a submarine, a battle tank, and a cargo plane individually into those spaces made it just that bit harder.

It also meant that, as the smallest craft, she ended up with a suitably more narrow space to follow. But where the others would be tediously coaxing their vehicles in a manner not unlike a vacationing family easing out of an awkward parking space by committee, she had free reign to be as wreckless as she liked. As least as long as she didn't actually wreck, that is. Thus she streaked ever faster, savoring the adrenaline, simultaneously daring and careful, as if this ten tonnes of variable fighter were merely so much surfboard for her to finesse.

Finally the winding trail led itself out into the clearing where she could touch down. It was another few minutes before the other modules began to emerge, one by one. Once all the knights had been assembled, she called to them.

"Right! Mirko, Cam, Kyl, with me, we need to sweep for survivors. Everyone else, reposition to investigate the core. Sylvi, you're on point."
"Yes ma'am!"
"Dismissed!"

While most of the team thus hurried toward the heart of the matter, the remaining four knights jogged toward the ruins of the residential block.

Sir Richard's iron-willed tactics proved their worth, as the grasping maws of the Revive DAMON were pulverized into oblivion, sparing the ship a gruesome fate. The creature retracted its mauled tongues, clamping shut - but seemed hardly deterred, and it would only be a matter of time until the hideous appendage had regenerated, and would be ready for another bite...

But then, the creature was met with another surprise, as the Fenossa's more impressive characteristics made themselves known - and a hail of death smashed down on its crown from above. Ordinarily, the creature would have been hardly bothered - but, unbeknownst to the Captain, he had managed to strike the creature's reverse scale. The DAMON's barrier dutifully materialized into being, stemming the tide as much as it could - but the Fenossa's main batteries, in this case, were undeterred by the distance between the two, and smashed gaping holes into the creature's cranium, canyons and fractures forming its crown-like head.

Yet most importantly, a treacherous crack ran up the length of the massive Dimensional Energy Crystal positioned at the center of the DAMON... And, as if in response, the Revive DAMON screamed. It roared in way that rattled the battlefield itself, sending even its fellow DAMON scurrying for cover. Thusly enraged, the mass of crystal atop it seemed to glow bright, bright, as bright as a miniature sun, concentrating all of its power on that single spot... Before unleashing it in the direction of the Fenossa, a massive blast of Dimensional Energy visible from Lunar orbit, aimed to vanquish its persistent foe once and for all.

William, for his part, had positioned himself below the Fenossa. The Sapphiard's arm reached up behind it, and the pair of massive maces - Romulus and Remus, respectively - were brought to bear as the DAMON circled him. One, a Bull-type, leapt - but the Special was faster than it appeared, and it swatted it out of the air, smashing it into pulp against the Lunar soil.

Within the cockpit, Sir Exeter grit his teeth, trying to keep his eyes on every monstrosity at once. He needed to buy time for Bisen Fortis to complete its operation - for the sake of those still trapped in the ZONE, he had to stand firm as the wall between the Fenossa and the hordes. Another Bull lunged - this time landing on his back, its twin claws sinking into the Sapphiard's neck - but it was quickly dislodged as well by a swing of the mace that demolished another one of its comrades, and it had only the briefest of moments to scream before the Azure Knight's massive foot smashed violently down upon its throat.

(Hurry, Lords and Ladies of Bisen Fortis.) He thought, privately;

(I will be your shield as long as I am able... In the name of House Exeter!)

Section Beta

The DAMON of Section Beta charged the Astranagant, eager to bulldoze its form, and get to the business of slaughtering the Lunar populace - but the stars overhead glimmered with malevolence, and a rain of light smashed down upon them, rending their forms in a cacophony of silent screams. The Gun Familiars darted out, like messengers of the Devil himself, their barrels blazing emerald fire as the individual rounds churned apart the survivors, the Bull DAMONs lashing about in futility with their horns as their forms were perforated from every possible angle.

...Yet, not even that amount of firepower was enough to completely remove the threat. From the dust cloud, a single Rhino DAMON emerged unharmed, surging forward at breakneck speeds, its form like that of a comet, as it attempted to smash directly into the Astranagant, putting a swift end to its assault...

Section Gamma

Down came the hail of Dart DAMON, like arrows cast from an endless heavenly host, to the sinful Lunar soil. The creatures swarmed about the Giganscudo, a living tide of blades that threatened to churn it apart... And in an instant, the cloud cleared, as the G-Circle Blaster activated. A wave of brilliant blue energy smashed out in all directions - as the Arbiter determined, a violent, indiscriminate weapon from a less discerning time - but at this moment, it was exactly the kind of firepower the Lunarians badly needed.

Those at the fringes attempted to surge in as the energy faded, seeking to drive their pointed forms into the exposed joints and softer areas of the Gigan - but were quickly met by the fusillade of the humble Axio below, stalwartly defending its larger companion, its precise volleys of fire covering both the Gigan and the Gunleon, sending scores of the creatures down screaming, wreathed in multicolored flames.

For the moment, however, the Gigan and its accompanying machines had earned a reprieve, as the swarm seemed to hesitate, keeping its distance - perhaps understandably so, after seeing so many of their ilk go up in a single flash. Did they, perhaps, have some form of self-preservation in mind after all?

ZONE Interior

The interior of the building, which formed an inner sphere of observational decks and maintenance platforms, had at this point been mostly evacuated ahead of Bisen Fortis's arrival. The only beings they encountered as they made their way through its rumbling hallways were corpses - most as a consequence of structural damage caused by the runaway reaction. Warning holograms and alarms popped up to attempt to dissuade them, or bar their path - but little in the way of any organized form of defense, as was common with similar facilities, making the trip mercifully short... If eerily uneventful.

Eventually, they would have made their way up to the control rooms, a series of networked areas that were linked together in a ring about the enclosed interior section of the ZONE - ground zero of the incident, and where the transmission had first emanated.

It was... A beautiful sight, even in its present, runaway state.

Twin coils of pure Dimensional Energy Crystal, wrapped together into an enormous helix, formed the central column of the ZONE itself, concentrated down into a single point that served as the heart of the fortress - a suspended, brilliant miniature star of unspeakable Dimensional power, surrounded by countless antennae designed to capture and harness its latent energy from a safe distance. Even as they made their way forward through the wreckage, the broken glass cracking beneath their feet, bolts of verdant energy occasionally lashed out, pulverizing another section of the interior into a blackened mess - or, seemingly at random, dragging it across the threshold completely, leaving eerie, circular gorges cut into the surroundings.

The power of the ZONE, it seemed, had exceeded all expectations... Even those of its creators, and there was no telling how long the system would last before it collapsed in on itself completely.

But the question remained... Was there even a way to stop its rampage?

1540534512023.png
For the knights of Bisen Fortis that made their way to the residential area, they were greeted by...

...Silence.

Silence... and devastation.

What had formerly been made up of as various habitation blocks was now in ruin. The shockwaves from the impacts above, combined with structural damage to the interior of the ZONE itself, appeared to have caused the ceilings to collapse, crushing the entire area, and casting it in the dim glow of emergency lighting. Cheerful housing and various decorated buildings now lay buried beneath rubble, and there was almost no sign of any living thing.

...Yet despite this, there seemed to be hope, as their sensors would have picked up the presence of at least a handful of survivors - those assigned to the ZONE on a more permanent basis had been injected with tracking nanomachines, a way for the Kingdom to track the effects of working in proximity to such an awesome source of dimensional energy. These same devices now emitted distress signals, giving the Knights of Bisen Fortis at least some kind of lead to go on as they waded through the desolation.

The rescue operation was underway... And time was of the essence.

Derrick observed the slaughter the Astranagant was performing even better than he had guessed. With but one of the DAMON's remaining he commanded the Gun Familiars to leave it be. The most the Black Angel itself had done since it had first landed here was draw its weapon and its pilot contemplated how much effort this beast was worth as it rushed to him, fancying itself a meteor.

The conclusion was that this attack was not worth dodging. The DAMON was free to crash into the menacing form of the Astranagant but it would not trample the machine.
As the cockpit absorbed the shock the scientist simply sat and watched the dimensional intruder's attempt, he had been pushed back a fair distance and there was some damage to the Astranagant itself it seemed that this beast had come out unscathed for a reason and not by sheer luck alas the fun had to end as his head no longer leaned on his arm, instead he sat straight with both of his hands at the controls for once.

The pilot mentally thanked the beast for allowing him to test the defensive qualities of the Black Angel, but the Zfylud armor was already working at undoing the beast's efforts crystal was growing, shaping. Filling the dents and holes made by the DAMON's charge and returning the Astranagant to prime condition would mere seconds such a beast, even if all of its kin had lived through the initial assault had no hope of defeating this apparent angel of death.

So it was time to dispose of the beast. Derrick decided a simple maneuver was in order, grab the underside of the DAMON's head with the arm not holding the Z.O. Sword, push it upwards and then insert the black blade into the chin of the bull that would be the reward to the one that had survived his initial attack.

Now should it survive that, it would instead get on the scientist's nerves.
