<Alkahest Internal/External Press Release>
Author: CEO Xander Digby
We live in interesting times.
I am pleased to announce that Alkhaest has made a full recovery from our unfortunate loss in Antarctica with our newest European Defence contracts. My heart goes out to those currently living within territory still held by the so-called 'Ruina', as while we are currently unable to retake those territories that does not mean we are not doing all we can to rescue and assist survivors.
However not all news is positive.
Our success at responding to incursions into Western Europe has lead to a disturbing increase in complacency. Yes, the Bergelmir units can shrug off anything short of a nuclear bomb. No, this does not mean you can slack off and let them fight for you. Elemental strike teams are sent in because our supply of AI units is limited, and every minute wasted is a minute where that unit could have been reassigned to another operation. Time is not on our side - stop wasting it!
And finally, I come to the reason why I am making this announcement personally rather than through an intermediary.
The end is nigh.
This is not an exaggeration. Our Antarctic Expedition ended when hostile forces temporarily awoke a hostile entity that proceeded to wipe out the majority of our research time. While we've done our best to monitor its status since, all readings imply that it will awake at some point in the next year. And when it does, it will not settle for simply wiping Antarctica clean of life.
And that is why I require more from all of you. Together we can break down the walls between us and our fellow man, to stand against the coming darkness. No god or divine being is coming to save us from this - all we have is our technology, or skill, and our tenacity - but all have been tested and stood strong against everything they have thrown at us.
Addendum:
Machine cell testing on live subjects has finally proved successful - Alkahest is looking for volunteers to undergo the treatment, and all volunteers will have compensation provided to either themselves or their next of kin upon culmination of the test. Talk to your manager for more details.
