Aloha, Ignitioneers!

Today is the board’s one year anniversary. At over 2100 posts, I am deeply humbled by the time, dedication, and enthusiasm our incredible writers continue to contribute every day, and am extraordinarily grateful for the opportunity to lead such a talented group of individuals.

Of course, our success is in more than just raw post counts.

Thanks to you, SRWI is quickly cultivating a reputation for excellence in storytelling; as a welcoming, diverse, inclusive community; and as being among the best boards for classic play-by-post RP on the Internet. Post counts rise and fall, but the friends we make through this unique creative enterprise can last a lifetime - indeed, some of us have been writing together for over 15 years!

We’re in the middle of what we could call the “Roleplaying Renaissance”. The rising popularity and changing social attitudes towards tabletop games, and the rise of casual RPs organized on platforms such as Discord and Reddit has introduced a whole new generation of players to not only the fun and creativity of our past time, but also led many veterans back to the table, ready to return to the adventure.

SRWI is a home to both, and that combination of fresh, new ideas and experienced knowhow is the secret sauce”
that makes what we do here great.

One last thing I’d like to share: I’m personally involved in collecting feedback on the community, and love hearing different perspectives on how we’re doing, what we can do better, and how we can keep innovating.

One comment that stuck out to me in particular, was from a user from a massive Discord RP server (Over 200 active users!) who told me they loved how close knit and supportive our community was, “Like family”.

I wouldn’t want it any other way.

Cheers,
GEAR @ Your SRWI Admin Team.
