After his encounter with Zivon after the defeat of Volkruss the pilot of the Astranagant sought for the new 'top priority' to no avail, for the first time since his new 'employment' he had the time to think. Think about the situation of the world, what had all changed and much worse- think about the state of himself. Zivon's warning rang clear in Derrick's ears, and now there was ample time for the horrible reality to set in. Every day he was being further and further removed from who he was, towards who he would be.
With each passing week he needed less and less sleep and food, leaving him with more waking hours to let the horrible reality set in.
A camping trip, something to take his mind off of things- Even here he could not escape his new being as animals avoided him like he was some predator lurking the bush, a similar reaction to the interior of the Swordian if muted in comparison. And so as the Ruina began their assault his reaction was muted, he moved into action but more did it out of duty then anything. The Astranagant perched itself atop the Earth Cradle in one notable scene.
However in comparison to the menacing visage of the black angel, Derrick himself fell in a depressive state. Lasting until the current day and age, distracting his idle thoughts with his 'duties'.
