Terrorized by the scream of death that pierced through the Stardust's song, and even further by the shots fired by her Fluid launchers as they broke buildings - please be empty please be empty - Sigrid did not notice the Chokijin until it was far, far too late to even attempt to dodge the nen attack.

In a last feeble, pathetic attempt to avoid certain death Legerior CL's arms formed an x to cover the Masouki's chassis from the upcoming beam even as she knew that it was futile. Inside the cockpit, Sigrid closed her eyes, not daring to look certain death in the eyes as it came for her.

She did not want to die. Her father had been right, she was not cut out for this. Those were to be her last thoughts, vocalized only by a strangled sob brought by the overwhelming dread and fear.

...And yet, death did not come, the pain never came.

Opening her eyes, the overwhelming fear turned into liberating relief as Sigrid's gaze was met by a peculiar sight, the beam had been brought to a halt by a field of magical circles of which their make and style she had never seen before. And petals and flowers there were alongside the circles as well, forming an ethereal field of flowers. The field of flowers that had surely saved her life was the single most beautiful sight she had ever seen, and in that moment she was certain that it would remain that for the rest of her life.

Yet even if she had been saved, the beam had wreaked havoc on the city, and she knew that it had surely inflicted even more death.

"Th- thank you." The voice trembled at first, yet even during those two simple words it strengthened and steadied tremendously as Sigrid was strengthened by newfound determination, even if likely fleeting in nature. She did not want to fight, she never wanted to fight again, wanted to go as far away from a battlefield as possible. To hide and spend rest of her life in peace.

Yet if not stopped the demon they were facing would slaughter countless more than what had already been slaughtered in cruelty this day. On a day that had already seen far more bloodshed than what ever should have taken place.

The Fluid launchers were placed on the tail, and the blades on the wings were taken out and combined into one. The combined edge of the two blades glowed bright orange as Prana was supplied into it, and the hand holding it bent backwards, before throwing the combined edge at TouTetsuOh in an arc so that it would approach its left side. Yet even during that action, the free hand had taken one of the Fluid launchers out, and now shot several shots at the Chokijin as a distraction more than anything.

The other hand, now freed of the blades, went for the other Fluid launcher as Legerior CL burst into a movement, maneuvering to the right in a way that was only possible due to the wind spirit's blessing. Changing the launchers' setting to Hi mode, once again two tubes connected them into the Masouki's thrusters as it came to a stop to TouTetsuOh's right.

Once angled and positioned in a way where even if she was to miss the shots would not hit any of the buildings, Sigrid opened fire. With a roar the Hi Fluid launchers released twin streaks of energy barreling at the Chokijin.

The sights!

The smells!

To be free in the world once more was such a delight, the Chokijin couldn't help but marvel. Even as its beams splattered unexpected against the Deen Bell's shield, its grin remained locked in place. All these little meals, dancing about in their crude, metal wrappers. There was nothing it enjoyed better than peeling them out of their shells, much like how they in turn shelled lobsters, plucking their soft, warm bodies from the insides-

Two bright spheres detonated to either side of it as the monster crouched. A miss? It must have rattled the poison one harder than it thought. Some things were just too spicy, even for its gullet. Fire rained down from above - but it only cocked its head slightly to one side, seesawing back and forth on the spot, allowing the roll cannons to pulverize the surrounding areas.

Those ones, it thought... Looked good. Like shiny little candies, something worth savoring the taste of, as their hope turned to despair. And so, the two Fairlions dove down, the abomination lunged forward, galloping forward with great, terrible strides on all fours, arms spread wide as it prepared to catch them in mid charge, and shove them down its throat greedily-

There was a horrifying, resounding screech of metal and paper tearing. The giant slowed, and paused.

What... had just happened? Where did they go?

It looked down, lifting its elbows quizzically. There were no hands at the end of its arms anymore. Only hissing, popping stumps whose outsides boiled and roiled, oozing down to its knees in powdery, semi-solid chunks.

It looked... good. It thought, to itself, even as the pain began to settle in. But the pain was nothing compared to the ever-present hunger that had cursed it since it had first been brought to life. Even as the Scorpion's foul hatred melted away its body, it opened its jaw wide.

Just a taste...

Just a taste-

It didn't even notice the Legerior burst into being at its flank, the Twin Fluid Launcher like the twin stars of a burning, vengeful God. It didn't even register as the blast fired out at full power, punching directly through its chest and heart. The body swayed slightly, then clattered back, the metal faceplate that had adorned its features frozen in a wide, terribly grin... before a crack snaked up its surface, the sound somehow audible even over the din, before shattering into a thousand pieces.

"Did we... Get it?" Breathed Fang from within the Phoenix's cockpit. The professor had been so caught up in the moment, so thrilled at performing with Stardust, that the heaviness of the moment had almost began to settle in. And yet, as she opened the doors and stepped out...

The cheering continued, the people coming out onto the roofs, over the cars, applauding their saviors.

The nightmare... Was over.

"You're quite welcome, Ms. Masouki." He evenly replied, focus almost entirely on their monstrous foe.

The young sorcerer feared for all of them, facing something as powerful as the TouTetsuOh was a hellish prospect and he tensely girded himself and prepared all of his mystical knowledge for a daunting battle but just as soon as the shield dogma dropped, the salvo of attacks from his erstwhile allies seems to have done the deed. He felt quite foolish, however the sight of the evil Chokijin disintegrating because of the poison of that furious and hate-filled scorpion machine was relieving to behold even though the thought of a poison that toxic and corrosive shouldn't relieve him at all. For now, he was glad that its pilot wasn't attacking him or the others.

He let out a sigh.

The autowarlock seemed to stand down, lowering its arms to its side and the brilliant mystical glow of its gem foci dimmed as the sorcerer within started to lower his magical output. The Warth Deenbell gently landed on the ground beside the benevolent Chokijin, gazing at the people celebrating their continued survival with relieved glee.

He did a good thing, a heroic and righteous thing. It gladdened him, a smile came unbidden on his soft lips as he basked in the joy of the people of China.

"I think we did, miss." He cordially replied to the wary yet incredulous question from the woman piloting the resplendent Phoenix.

"It seems we've actually saved the day."

Despite how good it felt, the cheers of the crowd was quite surreal to the young sorcerer. It was not something he's accustomed to.
