The first sign of trouble was a Killer Whale surfacing off the coastline, broadcasting a distorted and long out-of-date Directory IFF. The Forsaken as it was now calling itself had been out of contact since the fall of the original Directory, and now it was dispensing hostile forces onto Italian soil. Five mobile weapons in total, alongside a couple of smaller vehicles before the submarine vanished between the waves once more.
Their objective was clear enough, the unknown force heading directly for the Jericho site holding the Bianceve.
"Surrender the Bianceve, and nobody needs to be harmed!"
A transmission sent out on a wide band, but followed by the unmistakable sound of a Railgun being fired. Just a warning shot for now, the projectile slamming into the ground just short of the facility's walls. The convoy had split off by this point, just leaving the team of mobile weapons threatening those garrisoned there. For now only the Huckebeins were in view, their colours painted for the desert heat rather than the temperate Autumn of Italy. All directory iconography on the machines had been somewhat poorly painted over, replaced with an unknown symbol.
Perhaps they were bandits, but what sort of bandits would try to steal a battleship? For now both mobile weapons would remain still, weapons primed as they awaited a response - or return fire, should things turn violent.
Neither expected the base to accept, but they had to ask. Not doing so would be improper. Unfitting. Wasteful.
