Biography:
Grant grew up in a small town, living quite the calm life, growing up with the idea of masked vigilantes parading around and saving people from danger. He saw an opportunity to become just that when he was old enough to join the military. Sadly, military life wasn’t all sunshine and rainbows and he would soon attempt to quit. He however was convinced to stay by his superiors, noting his higher than average piloting skills. He was granted access to newer units using the latest technology, testing them with quite the steady hand on the field. That was until an operation went terribly wrong with supposedly stolen prototype units being revealed as gifted from some Directory higher ups to what amounted to terrorists at the time. From there he saw no justice and took off with one of DEI’s latest particle accelerator powered units, but he simply calls it the Orphes.
With the Orphes, he joined a small yet resourceful freelance mercenary group called the Ultimate Cross or UX, doing odd jobs for people with the right money as well as the right ideals. With the Orphes, they began to take on bigger contracts and gained a dedicated cult following, people willing to pay for their dirty work to be done.
After the breakout of war across Earth however, the UX began to lose money and soon faded out of the spotlight. Since then, they have began to take on contracts from old Directory warlords looking to do research into a mysterious material, Odyssite.
What hides down that rabbit hole, I wonder?

Description:
History:
A former DEI prototype used to test a powerful particle accelerator that makes use of the exotic material known as Odyssite. This unit was assigned to Grant after the disaster of an operation he went through, giving him nearly complete access to the machine. The Orphes’ official designation was not yet given and thus Grant took it upon himself to give it a name when he stole it, his partner in crime that would bring him through the depths of hell that would be his new way of life.
While the unit’s capabilities were not fully observed by it’s original DEI researches, one thing is for certain. Odyssite, the material that powers the engine, grants the Orphes the ability to warp space. To what extent however is still a mystery.
Affiliation: Ultimate Cross (UX)
Combat Style: Hellwalker
Strengths: Careful observation of an opponent allows Grant to pinpoint and take advantage of enemy weaknesses.
Weaknesses: Due to the nature of the Orphes, Grant usually overtaxes his body in battle. This is due to usually charging in when he thinks there’s a clear opening or chance at attack.
