Not long after the Tausendfuessler had left the scene of the tragedy and disappeared into the horizon, something happened at the ruins of the laboratory. At two points in close proximity to each other two large, thick smog pillars were born, seemingly puffing from nowhere. Dark purple in color, any normal human that witnessed the smog pillars would find themselves under attack by any negative emotions they might harbor, suddenly intensified by the presence of the pillars.
Not soon after they had appeared, the pillars faded out, revealing two identical flying machines. They were not the traditional look of Mobile Weapons in a humanoid form, nor were they modeled after planes or even tanks. Instead they were wasp-like in appearance, the silhouette resembling a wasp ready to strike. Once materialized, the two machines wasted no time. After a short time dedicated to observing their surroundings, the machines started buzzing around and
sucking something from the air, the suction being vaguely purple in color.
As the wasp-like machines were sucking something from the air, another smog pillar appeared into existence. This time even thicker and ever so slightly larger than the two previous ones, though it wasn't present for any longer. As it dissipated it revealed a third machine, this one more familiar looking to humans and their idea of a Mobile Weapon. This one wasted no time in joining its apparent comrades in their sucking.
And for a short time, that was all they did. Yet after half an hour, the third machine noticed something. A faint trail. Though it wasn't visible to naked eye, it also wasn't something that the being inside the machine would ever miss once recognized. The trail led to the sky and away from the site. A decision made, the humanoid machine ordered its companions. The moment the order was issued, the two wasps jerked towards the third machine, as if invisible strings had been pulled. With another commanding gesture, the wasps dashed to the sky with the last machine following after them, easily keeping up with the machines in front of it.
They were still sucking away at the air, though the suction was much weaker than it had initially been. The trail they were following was leading them towards the Tausendfuessler.
And they were closing the distance between them. Fast.
